  1. Hi Folks,

I have finished the new Main Street Trolley book! It covers the why's behind Main Street, horsecars in early America, detail on the Disney horses and their care, riding the horsecar, and the engineering behind it all. This is Part 2 in the series. Part 1 covered the Fort Wilderness Railroad.

Since the horses on Main Street (or anywhere else on the property) live at the Fort, I have a lot of coverage on the Tri-Circle-D Ranch. If you are new to the Fort or simply get busy, it can be very easy to miss the Ranch at the Settlement. There is a lot going on there with the horses, and the cast members are more than happy to show you around and answer any questions. So, if you are a fan of horses, Main Street, or simply a big Disney fan, I think you would enjoy the book.

The ebook (PDF) version is available now, the print version is coming in a week or so.

Folks on this board helped with the book, so a big thanks goes out to them! cool1.gif

Enjoy your day at the Fort!

  2. Hi Folks,

As part of the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society's annual meeting, a brief tour of key spots on the old railroad will be held Sunday, Sept 30th. It will begin at 9:00am at the Trails End Restaurant and last about 2 hours. If you are at the Fort on the 30th and would like to attend, please join us!

Also, as part of the annual meeting, the Disney Railroads Train Show will be held at the Wilderness Lodge Vacation Club's Carolwood Pacific Room on Saturday, the 29th, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This room is off the main lobby of the vacation club. There will be a heavy emphasis on the Fort Wilderness Railroad including attendance by a number of former Fort Wilderness Railroad cast members!

    Hope to see you there!

  3. Hi Laura,

Thanks for your kind note! I'm glad you've enjoyed the books and sure looking forward to meeting you at the Un-Meeting....how fun...party0006.gif

I can't think of nicer place to have your morning coffee..and glad you and your family are enjoying the car....

A fun item for you...the picture below is of Suzi Schneider Ward standing on the car's platform last year. If you will look at the cover of the main book, that's "the same picture" of Suzi, except some years ago now (different car!). How bout that for a Then n Now!

Bob's a good guy and he is Santa Claus for the old railroad...thanks to him a lot of folks have been able to "touch" the railroad and not just see it in pictures....

    Take care,

    David
