Hi,
I wanted to again thank everyone for the help I received here in the beginning of the year. We were originally not sure about camping at the Fort. We have a very noise sensitive dog. Based on advice received on the forum we went ahead and did book a spot. We asked for the 500 loop- an outer site, hopefully a quieter location.
I am hopng for more suggestions- I know they don't really take requests, but I thought on the letter that I will fax 5 days before our arrival, that I would mention some of the numbered sites in the 500 loop. Are some sites quieter or more set back than others? Any suggestions? Of course a shaded spot would also be helpful! Our main goal is to provide a peaceful environment for our dog. The less action around our RV the better for his vacation. This will also help our stress level.
We arrive at the Fort on April 22. We will be there for a week, spending all our time at the Fort. We have already put in the order for our sign, which we will get at the Fort. We are very excited and looking forward to our trip!
Thanks again for all the help! This forum is fantastic! It is amazing all the info is holds and how willing you all are to help others!

We have stayed on the 500 loop everytime, I have a Beagle that barks literally at everything, but we had zero complaints from anyone and that loop has always been quiet. Also I don't think the fireworks are too loud. You can also ask your vet for some "calm down pills" also. I love that it is so close to the dog park as well(I have 3 dogs) and sometimes take them by myself.

Yes, dont panic. Keep trying. I had to try different days and did this for a while and finally one day the dates I wanted became available. I just booked a premium campsite for Dec 1-13 2012. And once I saw what dates were available I called and booked vs. booking online.

I use Blue Buffalo which I love, it is holistic and great for dogs with allergies. The thing about vets is they get little to no nutrion training for dogs. To sell dog food I had to take a dog nutrition class, and anything you can buy at Wal-mart is not a good dog food. The first ingrediants do not need to have a by product of any kind or corn. Also dog food does not need to contain BHA it is a cancer causing agent. I only give my dogs natural or holistic food and or treats. Basically giving your dog purina, alpo, etc. is like feeding your kid candy all day. Zero nutritional value. The good food may cost more, but it is so much better for your dog and they will eat a lot less of it and be satisfied and healthy.
Eagle Pack anchovy is also good for dogs with allergies. (Also holistic)
My bf did the raw diet for her dog, this is great also.

We only stay in the 500 loop, I love the bigger sites and being so close to the dog park. Last year we just had 2 dogs and now we have 3 so being close is a must. We got lucky and were only 1 site from the comfort station which was super nice. One could be showering in the camper and the rest of us could go shower at the comfort station, which is great for those late night magic hours where everyone is tired and just wants a shower and bed...
