  1. I have stayed here on two occasions, one summer visit and one Halloween weekend where it rained the entire 3 days. I paid approx $75 per night to stay here for October camping, that seemed high to me.

I recall Ramblin Pines having a small tiki bar outside of the pool area. May appeal to some folks.

If you hit a rainy weekend like we did, there is Columbia Mall about 20 minutes from here.

  2. Stayed at CSR for a week in 2008 before I started camping and loved the theming of Coronado Springs. It is a large resort but beautiful and not themed so much toward the cartoonish style for kids.

After having stayed at the values on several trips, this was a nice step up for us!

  3. We also stayed overnight at Coastal RV on our way to WDW in June. It was good for an overnight stop and very clean. Tow vehicles must be pulled in behind your camper. When we were there, I didn't see any kids and could tell from some signage that a Good Sam rally was going on.

I'd stay again for an overnight but wouldn't choose it for a longer stay. Not enough amenities for a high-maintenance camper like me!

  4. Sorry to hijack Lorna's thread but a quick note to TCD's inquiry about deer flies. Just returned from 8 day trip 6/18-6/26/11 and did not see one deer fly while I was there. We enjoyed our first (of many!) Fort trip in the 500 Loop and we're still recovering from the Florida heat in mid-June.

Thanks for sharing your trip report!

  5. I will probably be in the minority here but I used GG during a Disney trip in 2008 and was not pleased. I was okay with the inflated prices but they did not deliver during the time agreed upon, one item was missing, and one dairy item was spoiled. I called from the resort and the Customer Service person was abrupt. I was able to get my items as promised but my experience was not a positive one.

I think mostly people have had good experiences with them.

  6. I am really starting to panic about these deer flies for our upcoming trip in June. We camp all over the mid-atlantic states PA-NC and I've never come across these.

I'd like to understand whether a stationary thing (like a beach ball or flower pot) would attract the flies. From what I've read on the internet, they attack moving objects.

I'm all ready to attach one of the solo cups to my husband's hat and let him troll around our loop before I come out of the camper! :rofl2:

  7. Anyone other than me having a problem with stink bugs in the camper? Last summer they were really bad and every time we opened the camper, I had at least 10 bugs I was cleaning out. Even though we have a brand new camper, I noticed on our last trip they a few had gotten in there.

What can be done to avoid the dreaded stink bugs?

  8. So happy to finally see another TCD trip report. You have a way with words and a wicked sense of humor! I've been mostly a lurker of both boards for the last five years but am very familar with all the heavy posters in both places. I look forward to the rest of your trip report and pictures. :suspense:
