rdancemom... Pam 113
Gettysburg Campground had to be evacuated this past weekend and is currently not accepting any reservations. Cleanup's begun but I was told no decision will be made until Tuesday evening as to whether they'll open for Easter weekend. Even if they do, there's still a chance of rain in the weekend forecast, so some of us are moving to the drier ground of Granite Hill for Easter weekend. Just posting here too in case GG folks might have missed it on that thread or someone else has plans in Gettysburg in the new few weeks. I know there's an rv.net group camping trip scheduled there sometime soon but not sure just when...http://www.eveningsun.com/localnews/ci_17865848?source=rss
dngtrumps 0
Wow, I was just there last weekend! Really nice owners and relaxing place to stay as a jumping off point throughout the Gettysburg area. We like this campground much better than some of the others in the area. Sorry to anyone who has to change their Easter plans.Dawn
rdancemom... Pam 113
Talked to management there this morning. They apologized but still don't know if they'll be able to open for the holiday weekend. She was very nice and refunded our deposit back to the cc. I feel really bad for them. Not only have they sustained physical damages to the CG but, with more rain coming down as I type this, it looks like a big camping weekend will be a washout for them too if the creek continues to run high... Total Joker ... TJ 203
That sucks! It's bad enough the economy is the crapper, but a major holiday in their type of business loosing all that revenue. Makes it worse when you know the owners are nice.
