  1. Oh, thanks for the info about Publix delivery! That was not available last time we went. If I do this, I think I will fly in the day before I want to camp and stay at a value or wherever D23 has negotiated a group rate, then Uber to Fort Wilderness in the AM. It's a long travel day from the west coast and one can never be sure how quickly DME will deliver your luggage. I do not want to wind up in a predicament that has me pitching camp at 9pm LOL Also, is there anyplace at either trading post to secure valuables? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Greetings, I am thinking about heading to WDW solo for DestinationD. I've been tossing the idea of camping around in my head. The campground is convenient to the Contemporary, where the events take place, and a tent site is very low cost. I booked 7 nights for 500 bucks. We have good technical gear, so I could check a second bag on the plane with our footprint, tent, the attachable garage, cot, pad, hammock, a chair, and sleeping bag and still have weight to spare. What is anyone's opinion, is this do-able? I am pretty sure I can set up the tent alone...an REI Hobitat. I could uber and get

  4. Greetings, My husband and I attended a great panel on the Disneyland Circus at the D23 Expo earlier this month. Seeing the footage of the Dragon Calliope made me wonder if it's still on display at Fort Wilderness...is it? Would love to see it! Meanwhile, our October trip approaches. I checked in for our Fort Wilderness reservation and requested the 1500 loop close to transportation. We will make the final payment on our pop-up rental this week. I made reservations for the Segway tour and for a trail ride (on my birthday!). Can't wait! We are going to pack our ENO hammocks. We have 9 foot tr
  5. Thanks for the info. We wanted to use Uber for a for a grocery store run. Pretty sure Mears doesn't offer that service. or do they have a monopoly on taxis? What would a taxi do BTW? Would we have to meet the taxi at the main gate? May just end up ordering a delivery from Whole Foods, but of course, that raises the question "Can a delivery service bring an order to a campsite?" 6. Thanks so much for all your replies and welcomes :). It sounds like Fort Wilderness will deliver and pick up luggage from a campsite, then? I intend to request loop 1500, BTW. My husband and I will actually have our luggage in tow on DME. To avoid a red-eye, we are flying in a day early and staying at the MCO Hyatt. My mom will fly in the next day - DME will fetch her luggage for her. Another question: Can we do Trail's End breakfast without an ADR? I booked a reservation for our last morning, but I want to cancel it because I think the logistics of coordinating checkout with the rental comp
  7. Greetings all, I have been following this board for a while, but this is my first time posting. My husband and I are recently returned Peace Corps South Africa volunteers who love to tent camp. I grew up on the east coast, and I have fond memories of camping at FW with my family (especially during the bicentennial). I live in the PNW now, so I never thought I'd be camping at Disney again because of the logistics of getting our camping gear there. However, we found a trailer rental company and decided to camp for part of our trip this year! My main point of confusion is what will happen to
