  1. Have you tried the link?

They have buy an adult, get an adult free, buy a kid, get a kid free.

They offer them for LEGOLAND only or a combo with the waterpark.

They also have shuttle tickets from International Drive to the park for $5

I did try the link, and it worked! Thanks a bunch.

I have my fingers crossed, that the 'stay a 2nd' day for $15 per ticket still applies to these.

(aka, I don't know if the 'extend to a 2 day ticket' applies only to a full price 1 day ticket, or any ticket at all)

I still would like a physical coupon as a backup for a potential 2nd day, just in case I can't get the $15 add-on.

I PM'd someone above for them to potentially send a coupon to me.

....can't wait for my first FW trip with the family! Yeehaw!

  2. I'll be staying at FW for my first time at the end of Aug, and this forum has been a great resource!

I didn't see another sub-forum header I should post in, so I'll do it here.

I'll be going with my family of 4 to Legoland for 1 or 2 days at the end of the month.

    1) For those that weren't familiar, in the back end of the Lego Club magazines, there's an awesome coupon for 'Buy 1 adult ticket, get an Child ticket for free'. This is easily the best coupon I've seen for anything around Disney.  This is about a $45 coupon.  However, they are only in the magazine (I believe).

    2) With a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, I was looking to get 2 of these coupons (it appear you can use more than 1 per family, after reading the fine print).  But, I'm missing a coupon from a 2nd magazine. I live quite rurally, so I don't have the networking to get another magazine/coupon (I've tried to get a 2nd from Lego, but they might have a 1 per household kind of policy? aka nothing has shown up after signing a 2nd child up a few months back)

Is there any chance someone on these forums, has access to one of these magazines through their kids? grandkids? that might be able to send one via snail mail?

If you can help, please PM me, and I'll provide an address.

And, if you're staying on the site, when I'm there Aug 19-29, I'll be stopping by and buying you a beer! (or equivalent)

    Thanks a bunch.

  3. I'm about a month away from my first FW adventure. Yay.

I think I'll be having someone stop at a grocery store for me, to help with food supplies to be ready at the beginning of our stay.

I'll also be renting a car a few days, and will probably go to a grocery store on my own, also.

This led me to wonder, since I always like discover and hunt for regional food (healthy, not-healthy, junk food).

I haven't been to Florida as an adult, and am coming from New England (where some regional foods might be things like Lobster, Whoopie Pies, Moxie, etc)

Does anyone have any suggestion on something I might try, that you know might be scarce in my neck of the woods?

I saw Conch Fritters listed somewhere online, but wondered are these readily available near the Deli and/or Seafood sections of most major SuperMarket chains?

Cuban influenced stuff? Caribbean influenced stuff? For example, can I find Jerk Chicken at all supermarkets?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm hoping this will be a fun thread for everyone to suggest.

Most I will try to find. :)

  4. I like the tampon idea.  I'll just the top of the cannister/pot with those, above the fuel.

Oh no, my cover is blown.  All the gate screeners read these forums for training.

I'd do the thermos thing, but I'm coming in with only 2 large backpacks via plane.  If I had a 40' camper with a 10 cup coffee maker...

I'll make sure to light it on Tom Sawyer Island, and not on Main Street. :)

In reality, you might be sitting at the other end of the picnic table and not even know that I boiling water with it

(for those not familiar, the JetBoil is a backcountry friend that I pack for every road trip, you should check them out if not familiar with them...build in starter, all self contained, the pot is the cup, fuel and burner fits inside the cup, and it boils 2 cups in under 2 minutes for me, with a built in french press...an engineered dream)

If the fuel gets confiscated, I guess I'll just get mad and cancel my barrista tips, or see what coffee detox might feel like :)

  5. Hi all, I did a quick search forum search and didn't see anything.

I will be camping for the first time at Disney in a few months.

I took a peek at the official 'forbidden items' list that Disney has on their websites, and did not see 'camping fuel' listed as an item

(which I kind of assumed would be there, knowing they have on site camping)

So, that leads me to believe there's the chance I could bring some with me into the parks???

(the forbidden list does have a 'catch all' line that says, 'anything we deem dangerous', which might be camping fuel?)

I'm sure some reading this might be wondering why,

but my wife and I are 'die hard' coffee drinkers!!!

And, I have a JetBoil backpacker camping stove that has a french press coffee maker built into the mug shaped stove/pot.

Therefore, I have a small isobutane cannister to heat the water (the size of 2 stacked donuts) that works with it, that can store inside of the mug/unit.

And, I would love not to pay Starbucks over $200 during our 10 day stay. (2 cups each day for each person over 10 days, $5 x 4 x 10 = 200) :)

Has anyone tried bringing something like this into the parks?

Is it hit or miss, pending the screener?

Is it an automatic flag for them?

I know I can't bring this on an airplane flight, but my local amusement parks around me let them it.

If they 'flag' it, can I fill out a form or something and pick it up on the way out of the park?

    Thanks for any feedback!

  6. Thanks a bunch for all the feedback.  There's some nice tidbits above to contemplate, while trying to make decision on a big trip for us (the adults haven't been to Disney in a while, and the kids, never...)

Yeah, we're doing the DME bus, but I could easily not take it, if a day rental might be in the works, so that we can 'load up' with goodies on the way in.

I think we're leaning towards to a camper/popup rental, due to the potential heat/humidy at that time of the year.  This will get us a fridge, so we could load up on food.  It will also give 'peace of mind' to allow us to do a mid-day park nap or relax with A/C (which couldn't happen mid-day with a tent only)

  7. I'll be doing a camping trip with 2 adults and 2 kids to WDW in August, but have never stayed at Fort Wilderness.

I'd like to be able to solely bring in a tent/tarp with back country cooking stoves and such (we'll be flying in solely with backpacks)

I'm wondering on location of the tent loops, and their proximity to picking up perishables at the onsite provision stores.

We most probably will be buying food and have it shipped/sent to our site before we arrive (for all non-perishables, such as 'just add water' pouch meals).

But, I definitely would love to have access to perishables on many days.

    1) Is renting a refrigerator something that can be easily done from an outside party? Does anyone have any resources or links to companies in Orlando that can bring one in for me? Do some of the outside grocery stores that bring in food, do this kind of thing also?

I'm having a hard time finding any fridge rental options with quick perusing and searches. (I'd happily rent a caravan in the Orlando area, but that will add a substantial amount of expenditures, just so that I can get a fridge, and not use much or at all to travel off-site)

    2) I'm also wondering if renting a golf cart could easily offset the fridge option, and it would be easy to just go and get a quart of milk, or eggs, or meat, or fresh vegetables each day we were cooking at our site.
