I just read about this on facebook and wondered if it was really happening.

OH no! How tragic!

All the theme parks around here offer better parking for an upcharge and most don't offer trams (but we aren't talking lots the size of Disney either.) sesame place had the worst parking lot ever (nothing but pot holes).
That's like Great Adventure's parking lot. It's a mess! I keep thinking that they will fill some of the pot holes on the off season...Nope!

Wow! Those are beautiful photos!

I first wasted some time on a Smurfs build your colony game. Then I wasted a TON of time on a Simpsons build your Springfield game. I'm not sure I had another build your Disney game in me...
SAME!
And yet...I just tried to download it, but my phone is too old. I bet my son will want to give it a try, so I'll put it on his iPod so he can check it out.

Some of you may not have heard of the guys who wanted to document the Horizons Ride before it was torn down. They started by sneaking in a big bulky video camera to record as they rode in the ride-vehicle, then they slowly figured out that if they were careful not to be seen by any other riders, they could jump out and hide inside the scenes while filming and taking still pictures, then jumping back in to another empty ride-car when they were ready to leave, and just exit the ride like nothing ever happened!
Their blog detailing their adventures is here: http://mesaverdetimes.blogspot.com/
This is on the home-page:
"....About Us
We're Hoot and Chief. We love Horizons and did our best to document it before it was destroyed. We left our ride vehicles repeatedly and even spent hours crawling around in the guts of the attraction. These are the fruits of our labor for you to enjoy!
!!!IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS BLOG!!!
The best way to experience it is to start from the first post and read on. You'll find that there's a story here. Try not to stay up too late..."
How have I never seen this blog? Oh man. I know what I'll be doing for the rest of my evening!

Disney needs to ramp up their renovation processes if they want to keep passholders coming back.
It seems like the other major parks can crank out new rides and attractions in about a 1/4 of the time (or less) it takes Disney.
That is exactly what we were saying. With the amount of man-power that Disney has, I'm surprised as to how long it takes to get new stuff built. They can transform Magic Kingdom from Halloween to Christmas overnight...but building a new ride takes FOREVER!

There is a picture of it on this link

Interesting! I don't remember seeing that at all. I'll have to look through my pics and see if it was there when we were.

Does anyone know how they normally turn the lights off at night? Was the Mickey song just for the "final" night?
Also, I've seen pictures floating around that showed a light display that said "see you real soon" was that always there or is that a hint that they will be relocated and I'm assuming renamed?
The times we saw them shut off for the night, they just played one last song and shut them off.
I don't remember seeing the "see you real soon" sign when we were there. I'd love to see a pic of it since I think we somehow missed it.
The rumors I heard while there was that they were giving the large structures that they got from the Osbournes, back to the family, but may relocate some of the other stuff and do a Christmas display at Epcot or Disney Springs.

We were told that they would be moving the cat every week and that it would be harder to find each time.

Do you make that icing or is it one you buy?
We make it. Super easy, tastes good and dries hard and shiny so cookies are stackable.
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1 teaspoon almond extract
food color

I hear ya! I don't know that we could get our cookies to look that awesome...but I'm feeling inspired! :) My daughter and I love to make sugar cookies, so we have have to do some Disney ones with our Christmas cookies this year.
We made these ones when my daughter was in Alice in Wonderland.
And these ones for my son's parkour/ninja warrior birthday party at his parkour gym.
We usually use an icing that dries hard and shiny then just write on the cookies with a food color pen. We love those things! We need them in more colors!
