So back to perception vs reality.

 

I had the pixie dust and magic perception before I started. Do I still, absolutely. I know, it's hard to believe.

I live where I live because I knew 25 years ago that I would be working in some capacity at WDW. I thought it was going to be as a design engineer, and if I wanted it, I could have been one. But after being given the opportunity, I decide that I wouldn't be happy doing that and took a different direction.

 

I'm not a fan of corporate Disney, but I'm a huge fan of Walt and Roy's legacy, and I give Roy equal credit.

Contrary to my online persona, I'm an excellent CM and always have been. I do make the magic, I do enjoy doing it, otherwise I wouldn't have done it for so long.

My husband is a seasonal CM.  It's something he always wanted to do.  After we both retired, he decided to try it out.  He loves it.  The work is not hard but the rules are strict.  The pay is not great but he isn't in it for the money--we both love WDW.  I don't believe it's for everyone but I know it is definitely for him.  The people we have met since he's been a CM are friends we will have for a lifetime. To anyone that believes they are interested talk to Lou or Gary (my DH) they will give you the pros and cons.

Life is what you make of it & being a CM definitely fits that category.   For us it's still magical.  :fairydust:

Gary, Gary, Gary, there is this website that only CMs have access to, you may be familiar with it. It's called "The HUB". Does that ring a bell. Have Marilyn do it for you.

If it has a price or a description, it's on there.

 

Anyway, the HUB is showing that the adult price is $24.49, and the child price is $14.90.

I am not great with the written word (thou some people think I not great with the spoken word either) How could anyone think Lou is out to win, what is there to win? If you look at his written history it is all in fun, some people don't get his fun, then ignore it. But I can say from personal experience that I have never met a more giving, generous man in my life. This board is a mixture of many different people with all different personalities, from all different walks of life, with different likes and dislikes. But we all came together for the love of Disney and Snarky. If you are saying where is it in writting about Snarky, look at our logo, what is his name? ? I don't always like everything that is posted so I ignore it. This board is supposed to be fun, family and loving. Most of us that have met are family. No one is out to get anyone or WIN. If you weren't happy about your thread being hijacked, and think it shouldn't happen look at every thread hear. Fiends give the information that is needed and then they hijack the thread. It has always happend from day one, and it happened on that other place also. That is the Fiends makup. I don't know why you feel you are singled out, but get over it. If you want to leave, leave. You have never met Lou, maybe you would rethink if you had. He goes OUT OF HIS WAY to great any Fiend that is in town, would you do that?

I know every campground has quiet hours. This may not sound very intelligent given I live in the south BUT... Do the quiet hours apply to rooftop ACs? Do you have shut them off at night? I get generators and parties and loud music. Thanks so much.

It only applies to quiet hours & ACs if you frequent NASCAR races--even in the deep south.  Try sleeping in the summer months when you can't run your generator which means no A/C.  The south is HOT.

You might be able to meet a CM Fiend but they'll never be hard at work..................

Still no sign of my sign.... I placed my order on Oct 24th, and received my confirmation on the 31st. Hoping to get it soon!

He's really cute.  We had one just like that before Maggie.  I briefly had tears.  I got over & I thought maybe he should be called Snarky in honor of your return.

Glad we got to meet and enjoy a late night run to AOA.

I never get enough time in the camper.  We have had more than time this year than in the past--I think that just makes it worse.  :mh1:

We had another great Halloween with the Fiends. It was nice to see all the familiar faces but even better to meet so many new ones!
