  1. The 3 Thousand trail parks we stayed at were in need of a lot of repair. (Circle M and Timothy Lake North, both in PA, and Lake and Shore in NJ)

You can tell that they may have been a nice place at one time, but we found them to be very run down and in dier need of a face lift and a coat of paint.

We used this program ( http://www.readycampgo.com/ ) to check them out, and for the money it was worth checking them out, but I do not think we will stay at them again unless they fix them up.

I hope the ones where you live are nicer.

  2. I started a Thread on the other board back in January (Where on Facebook) on where all the cool people went. I got a few PM’s that gave me clues on this site here since the other board was filtering anything that look like directions to here.

After finding FortFiends.net, I was getting requests on how to find this place and I was happy to let them know. After getting a warning from the other site in April when I was only responding to the thread on how to find you all here (Reason: Filter Violation), I was basically told to stop leaving bread crumbs to here and soon after I got flushed.

I replied to their email and was banned soon after for (“Reason: Argumentative/Sarcastic”) and (“Posting while already banned”). The thing is, I never knew that I was banned. Never was I told so, but I am WAY happier here and this site is AWSOME!

  3. Ok, we pretty much decided on heading out to Gettysburg for an extended father’s day weekend.

We have basically narrowed it down to either Gettysburg Campground or Granite Hill Campground until I called Gettysburg Battlefield Resort.

To my surprise, they told me that I have won 30 days of free camping at their resort that I won about 3 years ago at the Atlantic City RV show. All I had to do was sit thru a 2 ½ hour tour of their resort, and that included a free lunch on them. I told them that a 2 ½ hour sales pitch is WAY too long. She in turn told me that they have to say it’s that long but it really is a lot shorter.

Now I know that there has to be a hook somewhere, and the place really looks nice, but what I was wondering, has anyone else stayed here and how was their sales pitch. Any info would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

  4. OK, we went down to the Cape May Zoo on Saturday with my wife's Daisy/now Brownie troop and looked at a few other camp grounds that we were interested at staying at and decided to go to Gettysburg for Father days weekend.

Now we will have to figure out the campground. We have 4 wee ones and we are looking for a place with lots to do for the kids and a nice pool.

  5. I went a couple of years ago but never again it was a mess! Nothing worse then out of control kids! :argh:

    Ditto on that.

When I went with my boys it rained all weekend. It was a mud feast.

We left on Saturday night and just threw away our tent. I told the troop that if I can't park it, I'm not going.

  6. Hey Abagpiper5, we will be @ Seashore Campsites for the Mother's day weekend, how far are you from there they might still have sites as we were there last year and it was not crowded at all.

I would love to go somewhere on Mother's Day, but the wife won't have it. She says that camping with 4 wee one's is too much work for her getting things ready.

We have been blessed with very well behaved kids and that's not an issue. When we do camp, we usually eat at the trailer.

We have stayed at Seashore Campsites and had a good time. The sites are a wee bit close to each other thou. I'll see if I can find some pic's.

  7. Where are you located and how far are you interested in traveling?  I believe I am off that weekend so I am interested.  We would be coming from NEPA.

We live in Manchester NJ. If we camp for an extended weekend, then we do not like to travel more the 3 to 4 hours.

  8. I was wondering if anything is going on for Father?s Day weekend.  The family and I are thinking of heading out for and extended weekend on Father?s Day in Gettysburg PA.

We are thinking about booking this place.

If anyone has any info about this campground or any other in the area, that would be helpful.

If there is somewhere else that people are gathering in the area, please post.

We are also planing on a visit to Cape May NJ, and Knoebels PA.

  9. WOW! :argh:

Those price?s are insane. We thought about going there last year, but to have to pay and extra  $30 a night because we are a family of 6 is crazy.

(Campsite Rates are based on two adults and two children ages 4 to 18 (non-driving).)

It looks like a lot of fun, but one of the reasons we camp is so we spend less on lodging, and more on doing other things.
