Soooo for seasoned FORT FIENDS..... what was the final deliberation.... do you do online checkin? Or don't mess with it? We will be checking in, in 6 days, staying for 2 weeks. I've faxed my loop requests--and was just wondering what do you like to do? Or do you honestly think it doesn't matter at all?

Any July calendars out there yet?

I've never not gotten in the site# I requested.....I always fax exactly 5 days ahead and always note it in my reservation....... I mean I don't get to come as often as most Fiends...but we've been lucky when it comes to that

we are coming in,...but will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort..... This is a surprise trip for our boys,...our whole family is actually going to the Florida Keys for Christmas/New Year, so on our way home we are surprising our boys and stopping by the CBR..... we have always stayed at the fort, but since we won't have the 5th Wheel....were not camping..... BUT we will check in Jan. 2nd-5th....

We ate there last night too- around 6ish

It was disgusting- my son had the grilled cheese--- it literally was 2 pieces of bread with cheese--- not toasted or even melted

He refused to eat it!

My husband had the burger and ended up pitching it

Seriously was disgusting at $45 for nothing

It's been raining everyday since we've been to the Fort,... Every.Day.

It's been averaging 2-4x a day sometimes a quick shower but it's been a downpour

But yesterday and today it's been pouring pretty consistently

Currently driving to Publix to grab more food,.... But pretty dreary

There isn't much built yet-- but they've been doing construction at checkin all week and also by the golf cart rental area

Busting up the concrete and adding pipes,.... Not sure what's going on--- headed to blizzard beach now- I'll take pics when I get back

We have had almost 2 weeks of more rain than not, here in the Tampa area.

 

We might get a break for an hour, 2 at the most, then it clouds up and starts pouring again.

No it's been pretty rainy here--- it's rained everyday,... Yesterday was a pretty good storm,.... We figured if we were gonna be wet,.. We'd rather be at a waterpark than a normal park,.... So we sucked it up and was chilly at Blizzard Beach for a bit

It was still fun- my boys loved it

We are making the best of the weather, that's all you can do

Also--- if you zoom in on one or two of those pics,... You can see the construction on the checkin lanes too--- it was the far 2 right lanes when you first come in to the fort

Yes we check out on the 9th--- but the next best site is 1813,..... On the canal and nice shade!!!!

OK---- I've been here now for four days and they do not wipe down that mug station-- today there was easily 50+ bees swarming around it because of the lack of cleaning up the spills. If it's going to be that bad then they need to move the refillable mug station to the Meadows trading post-- inside away from bees,.... Seriously if people have a Bee allergy .....there's no way that you can let your kids go swimming because they are swarming everywhere

Our local "closest campground to the Fort" in Indiana (Lake Rudolph Campground) has banned all personal carts....and it's a very large campground like the fort with alot of hills --- so either drive, or rent a cart from them.......

We are dog people....that being said I have a couple breeds that are GREAT family dogs..... I know there are alot of breeds that qualify....but this is just from our family's experiences.

Now I love all dogs (within reason).... I am more a small/medium dog owner.... Im not a fan of drooling dogs or dogs that SHED....

My 3 favorite breeds are:

1.) Pugs

2.) French Bulldogs

3.) Golden Retrievers/Labradors (chocolate/golden)

These 3 dogs are extremely intelligent dogs....and have been easier to train (from my experience)

Retrievers/Labs can be on the bigger side---and they LOVE to chew....

Pugs and Frenchies are SO chill--- which I LOVE....I'm not a fan of barking or hyper dogs.....so these 2 breeds are EXCELLENT for that (plus they are smaller for camping)

We currently have a FRENCHIE....who is the sweetest thing! She will be going camping with us here in 17 days at the FORT!
