Theres so many things it could be that its impossible to guess at it.

I mistyped, it was Elk meadow, aptly named since we saw several wandering through the area while we were there. The first pic actually shows the spot we were in at that park. It was a nice place with great people running it, just a little more dusty than I would have liked but thats easily fixed. The office building was rumored to have been a brothel at one time before it was moved to the place it is now and there is a large covered grill that was built for Dan Blocker "Hoss" from Bonanza, supposedly there were plans for them to film some episodes in that area and he was planning on staying there, they wanted somewhere to have large meals for the crew so the grille was built, unfortunately the filming was cancelled and it was never used by them.
This was my first trip out west and I definitely have the desire to go back.

Thanks for the trip report... LOL We may have someone on this next trip that has the same Gluten issues so thats good info for us. I think Disney does a great job with special requests.

Has anyone been to the studio's and enjoyed the 50's prime time lately? We are thinking about going again with a larger group.

A bad day at the Fort is better than a good day anywhere else.
Best times.... watching our son Nick do Davy Crockett onstage with Ms Sundee
Bad times..... every time we have to leave.

we stayed at Oak meadow, on the left just before you get to the visitors center entering RMNP.
Very nice people and a decent park. they had a show on the weekend with a guy name "cowboy Brad" great local entertainer and a must see dinner show for the price of $25 per person (food was from a BBQ place just down the street, IIRC named Daves)

we spent a week last June camping in Estes park, I loved it, cant wait to go back.

Lovely write up, while reading it I sat sipping my orange soda with my pinky up !

We take US23 south into Ohio until it connects with I75 near Maumee, then go 75 the rest of the way.
#1 towing will take you more than 4 hrs extra due to the slower speed required when towing, we are usually around 24 -25 hrs total depending on traffic and accidents.
#2 we leave around 6 and stop about 18-20 hrs later in Perry GA IIRC exit 135 at a place right on the West side of the road across form the AG center, I think its snug harbor RV. Usually you can pull in without ressies late but we almost always make ressies and prepay the $30
#3 I go straight though Atlanta, I stay towards the middle lanes and just drive with the flow. watch the signs carefully and signal any lane chages WAAAAAY before I need to make them.
#4 Mountains ? them aint mountains, they got some really big ones out west. Seriously, I walk right by the big trucks going up the hills, just watch your speed coming down and if you need to brake do it slowly and smoothly and you wont have any issues.
Just remember to take your time and be safe and you will be fine.

If people stopped doing stupid things many in my profession would be out of good paying jobs, so keep the dream alive and go do something stupid people.

Unless they are going to start passing out pool towels I am going to need a clothesline. I have one of those rack type setups, I usually leave it at home because it doesnt dry very well.

It may be beautiful in Michigan, but it's 20 degrees too cold for me!
we are the crazies that walk around it t-shirts at WDW in January

Breeze is good...... Us Northerners dont do heat well....
-
what is the climate like in September ? is it going to be really hot ?
-
I think I will just have Patti fan me with a palm leaf instead of a fan.

I need some info from a previous cruiser. Do the rooms on the ship have their own climate control similar to the resort rooms ? Up here in the North we like it cool, just curious. Thanks

I think Disney wants to chip their guests and this is the first incremental step.

Well, I'm tire poor today. Got new Michelins on the truck. Got a great deal through believe it or not the Ford dealer. Between Ford Owner's Advantage and Michelin and Ford rebates, dropped it down from 1100 to 850.
Those Chrome 18 wheels seemed like a good idea when I bought the truck :-), but BOY do they add to the price of the tires
I have often wondered if people who buy the vehicles with the big wheels actually realize the cost whent hey go to replace them. Dodge did that for a while on their 1500 Rams with a 20" wheel, they are crazy expensive.

just put 6 new Goodyears on a trailer at work and they were made in China. Very disappointed. I did read that Goodyear is making large investments in their US plants, hopefully that will mean jobs and production stay in the U.S.

Glad to hear all of you are okay.
I think the truck will buff out with a little work

I fried up some fresh buffalo wings last trip that were very popular and my fried catfish is always a hit.

I cook up a lot of meat and grilled chicken and freeze it in quart containers for easy meals, our kids are spoiled food wise. We are big breakfast people and I have been known to make some awesome french toast.

room service will bring a bucket of beer on ice to your room or any of the bars will sell you one. We used room service a couple of times and even went down to the bar next to the Walt Disney theater for one. We stopped at the bar just off the main lobby a couple of times and sat and people watched also.
