  1. This used to be our first full day night's tradition. But be warned, they have a new chef that is different from 2 years ago.

The fish and chips were fine. The scotched egg was still good.

Don't get the pork duo or the veggie pie. The pork was not so great and the sauce in the veggie pie gets gross after 3 bites.

The shepherd's pie was only okay. It used to be much better.

Those are the dishes we had this past trip. The meal was so not to our liking that we decided to just leave half the meal and not stick around for there for illuminations. We got popcorn to fill us up because it tasted better.

I don't usually bad mouth places and it was really disappointing this time because it used to be our favorite meal. I definitely recommend you try something different than what we ate.

    Good to know.

    Thanks

  2. The worst thing about the coquina is that it sticks to everything when it's wet.

I am not sure I agree that it's a lot better than sand.

I am not sure where you saw dirty sand in Florida, but on the Gulf coast, it's about the whitest, cleanest sand I've seen anywhere.

    TCD

Oh sure the Gulf beach sand is beautiful but away fom the coast, blech.

I'll try to cover the conquina with the rug. Thx

Made my reservations for HDR. Had to get the 5PM balcony. The 7:15 was sold out. The 9PM spot is too late for the young DDs.

I also made reservations for the Rose and Crown at EPCOT (I guess thats R&C @EPCOT) for Tuesday.

Now I have tons of family coming to visit. Which is great but I told everyone that I'm NOT Leaving the Disney property.

Look like gonna have some weather too. As long as it's just regular Florida passing rain, that's OK.

  3. Well, I thought that you wanted to know.

Professional sand sculptures coat their creations with a mix of 1/3 white glue and 2/3 water to make the scupture last longer and to hold up to wind and light rain.

Somewhere back the in recesses of my mind I think that I heard some use hairspray. I had to look that up. Here is a reference for using hairspray.

You can make your own longer lasting sand mix.

    Cool huh?

  4. I don't want to dump on crocs but when I had to take my DD to the pediatrist. He asked if she wore crocs. I said no she wears flip flops and I a knowledged their jack of support for Playing in. He said well at least it's not crocs. He smiled and said. "they are going to put my kids through college". That kind of gave me a lot to think about.

Btw after reading these posts I think a box with a lid for us.

  5. That's what I figured for loop 1500. Close to the action but smaller sites. I appreciate the tip to check out the loops on YouTube.

Being our first trip I figured that the DDs would prefer to be near the bigger pool. Next trip will be much more laid back. Maybe we'll stay in loop 2000.

Are there any loops that lend themselves to popups more than others? Are other 'full hookup' loops worth the extra money if using a popup?

  6. This is my first poston FF and we are planning our first family trip to FW. My last FW trip was in the 70s! Man, River Country was Fun.

I remember a fiberglass tree stump trash can at the campsite and almost falling out of the last row on the last tram car on a latenight trip back from MK.

Now we are taking my DW and my kids DD8 and DD13 to see EPCOT. They've been to MK a couple of times. I'm hoping that we start making this a semi-annual event now that we have a PUP.

Short trip - Friday June 22 to Tue June 26.

Thinking about requesting Loop 1500. The kids want to go to the pool a lot. I'm gonna try to make the reservations tomorrow. Wish me luck.

We have a new to us Forest River Popup. Every single weekend this year so far I've had to work or bad weather or something else. Hopefully I get some kind of trip before the FW trip. New TV - 2012 Kia Sorento. I still need to see how she tows. I intalled the frame mounted Hitch last weekend. Lookin' good so far. I still have some mods to do to the PUP before the next camping trip.

    I can't wait!

BTW: I had the accronym post open while writing this til I get them down. Each blog has its own list to memorize. LOL.

    Tom
