I remember TCD talking about going up on the balcony at Pioneer Hall and just thought he shimmied up one of the poles. Now that I see this picture, I'm thinking that maybe you can just walk out there if you are seated in the upper balcony inside. Is this true? Or is that something that used to be allowed that isn't anymore?
It may not be 'allowed', but that balcony can be accessed from inside upstairs. The doors to the HDDR are usually open all day. I thought about sneaking in and taking a quick trip out there on our last trip. >:D But, alas, I am a big chicken! :popo:
Found it Tony
Tony you are right TCD took a pic of me out there last year
Photographic evidence pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeze! :)
:rofl2:
This could become a fiend assignment, like the Post a Pic from "Colson's Crossing" and "Trails End Porch" over at the dis. Groucho glasses and nose optional.

Hey Tony, tell me about the Mickey Waffles :rofl2:
Well let me tell you, first of all they are awesome! I once posted on the Dis(with photos of course) the tale of my quest to get the recipe, and make them at home. I won't bore y'all with it again, but let me just say, I still go to WDW for my Mickey Waffle fix!!!!!

That is some great info. I never heard of these plans before. I guess that the cost of such transportation drove them to abandon such ambitious plans. If only it had come to be!

Tampa Bay area had (2) storms hit within a week. We have our TT parked with the slide out - out! The wooden crown type molding around the dinette/sofa area at the bottom right corner - the wood is puffy and swollen?? I would say about 6 -8" up from the floor?? Can that be repiared? Do you have to replace that Press Board type wood strip?:rofl2:?:rofl2:? No idea! Nothing in that area shows any type of water damage> Just the bottom of the strip?
Don't know if you got this fixed yet or not, but I had the same thing happen. It was easy to remove the damaged trim. In our TT, it was particle board wrapped on the face with a thin sheet. I used some nice straight 1x4 to replace it. I took a sample with me to Home Depot and got paint to match my interior trim. All taken care of for just a few dollars.

I believe these photos were from the winter of 2003. Our only trip to Stone Mountain. Our set up is the one in the middle here, the blue Expedition and the Coachman trailer.
We had good friends on each side(or should I say above and below) us. As you can see, the camp sites are right on the side of the mountain. Kinda nerve wracking to drive down to the bottom, then start back up again, stopping up hill from your site and then backing in without going past the end of the site. :rofl2: Lots of stories about folks who lost campers after unhooking and they didn't have them choked well. Maybe more legend than fact, but ............
The little red pop up had been ours before getting the travel trailer. It was an APACHE. Not a hard side APACHE, since it had the canvas boot ends, but a great little camper none the less.

I don't have much to share about the early days, but it does fascinate me. Over the years I have saved images that were on line. If I am violating any copy right laws, or am posting someone's photos, forgive me.
So here are some publicity photos and the official comments on the back of these photos.
And a couple of others for fun.
