  1. The two of us, our kids (almost 4 and almost 6 when we go) and possibly my niece who will be 8.
  2. The problem with planning something this far in advance is it's giving us far too much time to change our minds. My husband was looking at the fort map tonight and he's no longer in love with the cabins now that he has seen how far away they are from everything he wants to do. He's still very much in love with FW itself. The new (possible) plan is to rent a TT and try to book a site in either 100, 200 or the edge of 700. I guess the next step is to find something to rent.
  3. We're not allowed to sell plasma so I'm just going to have to win the lottery. This seems like a solid plan with no chance of failure. Oh there will be no driving. We made that mistake last time, 2 days each way with small kids in the backseat. I was ready to jump from a moving vehicle by the time we hit Kentucky. And then there was the part where we got sideswiped by some Italian guy leaving Epcot and almost pushed in front of an oncoming Disney bus (thanks for not hitting us, by the way  ) I've sworn off driving on vacation. Don't judge, 2 days in the car and you'd be drinking
  4. Honestly, in February it'll be around -15 celcius and 2ft. of snow here, anything sounds better than that. It's part of the reason my husband is pushing for February, he'd rather get a break from the winter misery, I'd rather see pretty decorations. Of course I'm also impatient and February is closer than October.
  5. You just said the magic words. We would be there in the first week so no President's Day weekend crowds to contend with. All things considered February is the better choice for more than just school but being there for Halloween sounds lovely too.
  6. We're trying to decide between budgetting for February or October 2014. October isn't ideal, it will be my daughter's first year of school and I'm concerned about pulling her out for a week that soon into the year. If we do choose the beginning of February what should we expect weather wise? We'll be in a cabin so I'm fine with nights being cool to cold, I'm more worried about being cold during the day. I'm assuming it will be too cold to swim, is that right? Anything else I need to know?
  7. I think it depends on who is going. Our last trip was done with 2 young kids and we stayed off-site and it was a royal PITA trying to get back mid-day with kids who were grumpy and in desparate need of naps and quiet time. If you have all adults or older kids who plan to go from rope drop to closing time then it's not so much of an issue.
