  1. I hope I am putting this in the right spot.

I am wondering at what age to you allow your kiddies to go to the comfort station alone or with a sibling.

We are frequent campers, but it's never been an issue because who cares how they look bumming around the local state parks But, at Disney we may run into bathroom gridlock. My DH suggested allowing our DD12 and DD6 go the comfort station to shower. My reaction was (and still is!!) absolutely, positively not!!! There are crazies everywhere. Even if our campsite is right next to the CS, who knows what could happen.

I pretty much have my mind made up.... no CS trips without a parent. But... am I over reacting? I may possibly consider letting the girls go while DH goes to the men's CS.

    Interested in your thoughts!!!

    Jean

    Jean;

I think you're a trifle paranoid...if you've got second thoughts about letting your husband escort DD12 to the bathroom at FW. We're talkin Fort Wilderness here....not Times Square.

  2. Glad everyone had a good time. I sure was depressed we weren't there this year. Trick or Treating wasn't the same doing it around here... LOL

On a side note, I didn't get to spend the afternoon with Al and Becky, what a great day!!! Was great to see him again, and to finally meet her!

Awww he's ok, but I'm still sorry you didn't get to spend the afternoon with he and his wife. :rofl2:

  3. This might not help me go unnoticed, but I would love it if Jen could make me a "Free Melvin!" tshirt with Melvin's picture on it, and FortFiends.net underneath or on the back.

Of course, if Melvin went missing I suppose the shirt would make me a prime suspect. :rofl2:

Hey Dave how's about signs on long poles and we could picket out front while they're tryin to git in line for the review, chantin FREE

MELVIN. Yer durn tootin.....we could get the crowd on our side and there'd be no stoppin us then. Leastways that's how I reckon it'd go. Why shoot....we could even take us a couple o' rangers as hestages then they'd sho nuff hafta let him go.

  4. Rob I'm good with any location that has cabins as I leave the MH in Fl. You might want to consider the following campground.

    Blue Springs Ranch

It is in the most scenic area of MO. Within 20 Mi of Meramec Caverns, Onandaga State Park and Caverns, The Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Maramec Springs Park( Oldest Iron works west of the Mississippi) and home toTHE SPRING I can't begin to tell how beautiful this area is. I'm going to take my family here in July one way or another. I only live about 25 mi from here but my Grandkids have never seen it.

  5. We will be with you in spirit. You all are going to have so much fun! Someone please have a margarita for me.

I'll volunteer to do that....anything to help out a fellow Fiend

Tropical Seranade Returning to the Magic Kingdom

A little birdie, literally a little birdie, tells me that the sweet sounds of "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing" is now wafting happily out from the Enchanted Tiki Room in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. This is not just to torture the fanboys, but actually a sign that the attraction has ditched the new management and is returning to a more classic show.

A few weeks ago one of the two barker birds was missing, and now both birds are gone from the queue area. Then we learned that the attraction won't be re-opening on April 1st, but rather June 1st. Guess they have more work to do.

Today my source discovered that Walt Disney Imagineers are inside happily reprogramming the show and removing the scar tissue left from the Under New Management show. I was unable to drag out of my contact if they would be returning to the original tropical serenade show, or the newer edited version playing at Disneyland. Either way will make me happy.

All this because of a little attic fire that toasted Iago's feathers and caused some water damage. Hmmm that gives me an idea. Has anyone seen Stitch around here recently?]

If this is true then all I can say is YEEE HAWWW!  Man....I just loathed the new show. :bellringer:

  8. Hate to disagree with ya Lou...but according to their financials for the past two years parks and resorts posted NET profits of around a Billion and a half for 2009 and 2010.

You're not disagreeing with me. What I posted was part of an article that was posted in the Orlando Sentinel.

You can follow the link below for the full article.

Do you have a link to where you found your info?

If the Parks & Resorts made a profit of 1-1/2 billion the last 2 years, why would they write that story?

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-cfb-tourism-0314-20110313,0,5671575.story

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/the-daily-disney/os-disney-earnings-20110208,0,7426349.story

Lou, the Disney financial reports are found here....http://corporate.disney.go.com/investors/annual_reports.html

I think I see where the confusion lies....from your first link (Emphasis mine)

"An earlier version of this story mischaracterized the most recent quarterly financial results for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The results marked the first quarterly profit growth for the division in more than two years.'

    and

"Although Walt Disney Parks and Resorts recently posted its first quarterly profit growth in more than two years, Disney acknowledged last week that its pricing levels haven't recovered yet."

Now from what I've read Hong Kong actually lost money.  I also remember reading that Euro Disney and DVC were under performing as well...but I don't know if they actually lost money.
