I can say I put new tires on my TT after two years. I well now do it every 3 years to me it is the best Investment. I stop every few 100 miles and check the hubs by touch and the tire heat. It's funny I have never done it just driving my car but do it when towing
I wonder then if it isn't a good idea to just go ahead and replace them next spring before our trip to the fort?

Thanks everyone, I think I may try for Eagles roost.

Hey everyone,
What campgrounds have ya'll used that are right on the Georgia state line or into Florida. I would like to stay in one that has a pool and has fairly easy access to 75 on our way to the Fort.
-
I check all tires before every trip. Also make sure lug nuts are tight
Our TT is a 2009 and last year we had to replace a tire because the sidewall was splitting. We check our tires prior to leaving as well, but I was wondering about the Lug Nuts, How often are they supposed to be greased?

Wow That makes me excited to be able to see, let alone kids. Disney never ceases to amaze me with new innovative things

Just came across this thread and had to comment. My family and I stayed at DeSoto during Spring Break of '09. One word: BEAUTIFUL!!!
We've stayed at many campgrounds, but this place is hands down one of our favs! The staff as well as the locals that we encountered were all very friendly and seemed genuinely glad that we were visiting. We love the fact that the park is within driving distance to so many different attractions. One day we drove into Chattanooga and did Rock City, Ruby Falls, and rode the Incline Railway. The next day we visited Sequoyah Caverns which was fantastic!! The tour guide there seemed very knowledgeable and told some great stories about the history of the caverns. Honestly though, our favorite part of the trip was hiking all of the numerous scenic trails. Everything is so peaceful here!
I'd recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and appreciates God's handiwork!!!
Your right, we really enjoyed our stay and all the beauty too.

Thanks for the feedback. Right now we are staying at FW. I certainly can't make a decision about something that hasnt even happened, but I do appreciate everyones thoughts.

I recalculated our October trip to stay at the French Quarter. Yes we would save a few bucks but knowing I am in my own bed is worth it. We will be staying at the Fort
Your right thats the only thing that I think about. My own sheets, bed. I don't know

Ok, just want to hear from you guys what you would do. Right now the free dining plan runs thru the end of March. But, I know Disney has in years past, when one expires the next one is right behind it. So we are still booked for FW the first week of June, but I recalculated our stay at Port Orleans with a free DP and we would save $500. Granted we would save money if we didn't book the DP for our June trip, but unlike you Lucky Florida Fiends,we are only able to come down about every other year. So we really enjoy eating out. I hope all that makes sense. Any thoughts are welcomed.

Glad you enjoyed Red Top, we have stayed there several times since it is about an hour south of us. Never had a problem always happy. They have several trails which parallel the Lake, great fishing and swimming at the Lake. The unfortunate thing is they closed the beautiful Lodge that is there. We always enjoyed eating there when we camped. State budget constraints have closed several in GA. :'(

BTW Lizzy, did you get your answer from Ed's excellent response?
The map pretty much says it all.
And I never pass up an opportunity to hijack a thread.
Yes, I think I'll look at the map Ed's talking about. thanks!

Actually anyone feel free to reply. But I was wondering, is the bus system at all set up different at FW, then say CBR?. Could someone explain the color code system to me (purple etc.) I know when we've stayed at CBR, the bus will say "internal" or something like that. I hope I made sense. Will the busses actually say "Purple, orange" etc.

Oh my gosh, your TR brings back so many happy memories from the first time we took our girls to Disney. They were 3 and 9. It doesn't matter whose children they are. The look of pure excitement in their eyes are the same for everyone. They still get excited to go everytime, but I will never forget their first trip. Love your report.

This one is for Monique.
One of the most memorable scenes in "The Haunted Mansion" is the ballroom dancing scene. Ever wonder how it works?
I'm sure you've noticed the large pane of glass between you and the ballroom scene below. The dancing and flying ghosts are actually located in an area directly above and below you. The ballroom itself has no characters in it, just the furniture and other props. The ghosts are carefully lit, positioned, and animated, and it's their reflections that you see on the glass pane in front of you. Your brain combines the reflections on the glass and the scene below to form a single image.
It's a very old optical trick. It was also used in the Ghost Busters attraction at Universal Studios.
If you look closely at the animatronic dancing ghost figures, you will notice that they appear to be dancing backwards, with the ladies leading the men. This is because the creators forgot that the reflections would be reversed because as in a mirror, the image is reversed.
That is cool, thanks for sharing

I really like LRC and Desoto SP. The campground has mtn bike trails leading from it too.
I live less than 1 hr from there, and we visit the canyon often. A few years ago I bought some acreage on the mtn about 15 min from the canyon. It reminds me of being in east TN or NC. I thought about putting in a single campsite or a small cabin on the property for a little quick getaway place.
Here's the falls with a little more flow. Sometimes it is really rolling.
There used to be an amusement park and mini golf near Eberhart Point on the canyon rim. It even had a scenic chairlift that ran down to Canyon Mouth Park, but it has been shut down for decades.
Sorry for the highjack....i get excited about LRC.
Thank you for sharing those other photos. It just makes it that more beautiful. Maybe in October, when we go the falls will be a little bigger then too. I would love to see that

Thanks for sharing your report and photos.
This campground looks great.
I love to see stuff that was built by the CCC. This was an amazing program.
And that waterfall is awesome!
We don't have anything like that in Florida.
TCD
No, I know you don't have anything like that there. I was born and raised in Florida
-
I'm not sure exactly, I was reading about it on a website, I think I'm going to try and book there for Labor day
Did you book online or call in?
I booked online. We are planning on trying to go back in October.
-
Did you guys see the caverns and amusement park?
No, didn't see the caverns, where is the amusement park?
-
I love your sign too, we are working on one for our family

It's sad but true, when it comes to our State Parks they leave a lot to be desired The last time we stayed at one it cost us $60 a night plus 2 park permits, one for the MH and one for the car. Then were surrounded by water on our site. I was not a happy camper :argh:
Wow, $60.? You should be getting Mousekeeping for that money

We went thru a very bad storm in TN., but came out ok. We always lower ours to one side when we leave for the day. It looks like alot of them collasped in the center, I think you just can't take a chance. these storms come out of nowhere. I would have felt sick too coming back to that.
Keep the PSI up on your Tires!
