Publix Specials on gift cards starting 05/04 in SC

I understand Publix is running two specials this week (check your local sales adds, some specials are regional) in SC.

You can purchase a &50 AMEX gift card for $40, but must pay a $4.95 activation.  No min. purchase mentioned.

You can purchase a $50 gas card for $40, $25 min. purchase

My plan when I am going by Publix (not making a special trip out of my way b/c of gas prices).

Purchase a $50 AMEX gift card for $44.95.  ($50 less $10 coupon in weekly ad plus $4.95 activation)

It takes 70 mins for card to be activated from past experience.

Next time by Publix will use $50 AMEX gift card to purchase $50 gas card for $40.

Out of pocket $44.95 to purchase initial AMEX card.

Gas Card $50

AMEX balance $10

Total Cards balance $60

I'll take $15.05 anyday.

Note does not take in condsideration the $25 min purchase.  I plan to take advanatage of BOGO specials with coupon match ups.
