Beginning January 6, 2014, Camp Minnie-Mickey and the Festival of the Lion King show at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be closed to Guests to prepare for the construction of the new AVATAR-inspired land. This new land will encompass the former Camp Minnie-Mickey area and beyond. There's some news in the world of WDW transportation... Magic Kingdom/Transportation & Ticket Center: The redesigned TTC bus lot is now complete. It resembles the bus lots at Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.Work on a third bus loop is in progress. Canopies are up and stops are in various stages of completion. I got my Mickey Monitor today and in it is an announcement for a Friday the 13th event in September. Unleash The Villains is a one night only event that takes place Friday, September 13th between 8pm and 1am at Disney's Hollywood Studios. "Scream with delight on some of your favorite Disney's Hollywood Studios attractions! Shake the hands of select sneaky villains! Shudder when the villains get down and boogie!" The following rope drop changes have taken place at Disney's Animal Kingdom starting yesterday (August 8th): Guests will no longer be stopped at the Discovery Island tip board for an official rope drop moment. Guests will be allowed entry into the park 15 minutes prior to official park opening to experience a "surprise and delight" moment. A pre-recorded message will welcome Guests to the park as they enter via the entry portals.
