10 people are allowed to stay on the site.

There has never been an issue with more coming in for a day visit.

If you do not have 10 staying on site, then put the visitors name on the reservation ( or at least 1 person from each car), get Magic Bands for them and give them to the people before you head down to the Fort.. That way they can get thru the gate without any issues.

Thanks, we already have everyone on the reservations. We always fill in all 10 spaces with family who may or may not come. They always send MagicBands for all of us on the reservations, so this will be the second set for everyone from the Fort. About a dozen sets for my immediate family now. :-)

Glad the  grandkids had a great time.

As Dave said… Chocolate CHIP. Will help you remember.

BTW anyone can visit the fort  or any other resort. Whether their guests or not. They're just not allowed to use the swimming pools.

I knew you guys would know. Now I will, too!  The photo is with Dale!

We were not sure about visiting when they weren't staying on the property, so just opted against it. But thanks for the information. I hoping to have all my grandchildren down, in Oct - Nov, while we are there for two weeks. I figure a couple can come at a time. I'm waiting on the Not-So-Scary party tickets to go on sale so we can take them to one. We are also going to be there when the Christmas Parties start, so may do those with some of the grands as well.

  3. Just as you all thought, it was just the sing-along and movie. My grandsons were absolutely thrilled! They got their picture taken with Chip or Dale. I'm sure if I posted the photo, most here would be able to tell me which one it was. I feel like a lame FF not knowing this. :(

They did Legoland today and stopped by Disney Springs for awhile this evening. They didn't go back to the Fort tonight as it would be dishonest since they are not officially Disney guests today. Why, yes, I am bragging about what great kids I raised. B)

  4. Are Chip & Dale at the sing-a-long? (Please pardon the stupid question if it's called Chip & Dale's sing-along, I honestly don't know.)

I'm just hoping they get to meet some characters. They don't have Disney passes yet but plan on getting them when the kids are a bit older. The kids are mostly interested in the characters and the monorail right now. And they love staying at the value resorts, especially the Movie one, where they will be tomorrow night. They are going to try to do the movie, but it starts a bit late for them, they are of the early-to-bed, early-to-rise crowd.

    Okey Dokey, just a suggestion

It's actually a great suggestion. In fact, it got me thinking maybe we should bring along smaller containers so we can empty that way.  It may be much easier than finding an empty site to use during Halloween week.

Just bring along a dishwasher and then you are allowed to drain your grey water right onto the ground.

    Sent from my handheld doohickie

    Tempting .... lol

Just use it to put out the roaring bonfires that you have at your site.  After all, who needs a contained fire pit, Disney rules are made to be broken!

The lack of fires is my only negative about the Fort. Sometimes I really do wish I had it in me to be a rule breaker.

If you have a small enough grey water container, you can carry it to a toilet in the comfort station or the laundry sink in the laundry. I have a very small 5 gallon grey water container and that is where I emptied mine when I stayed in partial loops

Ours is too big. It's a 32 gallons that has to be towed behind the van.

  7. We are spending the first week of June here. I was just able to get those reservations last week. It's a tent site, on the river (not those horrid beach ones) but our pop-up will fit and they allow it. I was surprised to get reservations on such short notice, someone must have canceled.

We don't have as many reservations this year as years past due to the three surgeries, and multiple pre-surgical procedures that I have to have this year. We've been kind of planning as we go on the doctors' schedules.

  8. We had an amazing, fabulous time in 1500. I do fear being put in 2000, especially at Halloween, when we have such a long stay.

After that trip, I may start booking full hook up sites. It would be much easier anyway, than hauling our grey water to a vacant site - which I doubt will exist over Halloween week. Our cassette toilet only gets night time use, so it will hold out, but grey water an issue that would make full hook ups much nicer.

  9. Thanks everyone! We have a tent site reserved, will hopefully be on 1500.

Just us old folks so very much looking forward to passing out candy. We have lived out here in the boonies for ten years now and I miss trick or treaters. I always loved handing out candy. Even when our kids were little, DH would take them so I could stay home and pass out to all the kids. We may have company for a night or two here and there from our grown kids with grandkids, but nothing carved in stone.

It's a bit disappointing to hear that 1500 doesn't get as many, and that there will be less due to the weekday. I had planned to make an evening of it. Oh well, I will bring lots and see what happens.

  10. I would put in the w/d without a second thought. Even if I were only just going to use it occasionally, it would be a done deal. I can't even put a monetary value on it. Having my own laundry facilities in mandatory in my world. If I could afford a big rig, I would make it perfect, and that includes a washer and dryer.

Laundry is my nemesis. I raised 4 kids (some years 5) for 11 years in a rented townhouse, that not only didn't have hook-ups, but didn't allow tenants to put in apartment sized models. I also lived for over a year in another place with no w/d when my first child was an infant.

I don't mind not having a dishwasher. I have had to wash dishes plenty of places and it's not what my nightmares are made of. My nightmarish memories all involve hand washing or dragging laundry to and from the laundromat.

Go for it. Don't look back.

Not only does it look like fewer benches but these aluminum things are da** cold to sit on when the weather is a little cooler!!  That's always my objection when we go to Fantasmic.  At least with the wood once you had warmed it up with your butt it stayed warm.

I'm a bit more concerned at how hot they are going to be to sit on. They will be heating up all day in the Florida sun.

    They are also really ugly.

  12. There was actually a Class A bus on a site when we were there. Much larger than a regular Class A, it was like tour bus that bands use.

I do wish they would get it together and start to enforce the rules. The complete and regular disregard for all the rules is disturbing. It would not hurt business any. The Fort would still stay full. I'm looking forward to our first ever Halloween at the Fort, and handing out candy to all the little ones staying there. What I'm not looking forward to is buying enough candy to hand out to every kid who live in a 30 mile radius, who are not stopped from coming in to trick-or-treat.

We are camping next weekend at a state park. We have a tent site, that acceptable for our pop-up. My daughter got a new travel trailer, that would fit, so I called to ask if they would make an exception and let us us that instead. The ranger politely told me, "No" which I completely understood. I kind of felt a bit pushy even asking for an exception. If they made an exception for me, where would it end? I got that.

He did help me out in explaining how to possibly secure a second site for the weekend, within the rules. Fort Wilderness needs to hire some real rangers to run the show.
