  1.

Don't feel like a schmuck. I'm supposed to call Fiends that, and then they can feel like a schmuckface.

Many, many, people have expressed the same sentiments you have about the change in the drivers.

Before transferring a few months ago to "Park Events Ops" as a Convention Guide, I was a bus driver for six years.

While having an engineering consulting business, I would take six months off every four or five years and be a CM for about six months.

My first time as a CM was eighteen years ago last month and I've been rehired a half a dozen times or so.

I've been a Front Desk CM at two resorts, a Bell Cap at three resorts, a Concierge at one resort, a bus driver, and a convention guide.

I rather feel like a schmuck face than be a schmuck

What great experience working for the mouse! I'm envious

  2. Well when you put it that way, I feel like a schmuck for suggesting it....it's just something that stuck out for me when I was a kid. Even so, maybe the greetings coming and going could be a bit more outgoing. I'd still want to be a CM someday...

Whatbis your background Lou? You have some obvious grand experience but since I'm new here, I'd love to here all the jobs you have/had at Disney.

  3. I would love to be a CM but it will have to wait until working for a paycheck is not such a necessity. The pay versus gas is not feasible. I already know what I want, I want to be a bus driver when I grow up. I remember being a child and loading on a bus, the drivers were so friendly. Before the automated systems, they would talk to you on the microphones, joke, laugh, answer questions. Now when you ride the bus alot of times it seems that unless you say a greeting first, it doesn't happen. For many people the bus ride is their first Disney experience and it should be an introduction to what they will be experiencing for the rest of the day. I want to go back to when drivers were true CM "entertainment" rather simple modes of transportation.

As far as the strict rules, I'm all for it. ..it's what makes it magical!

  4. What a great job!

    Thank you!

AAAAND....my inability to think for myself continues.  DD would REALLY like me to add the 7D Mine Train game style dwarfs, but they are very different from the orginal dwarfs. SO, do I still with only original style characters or throw caution to the wind and add the new fangled dwarfs?  My original vision only had the very standard disney characters in the plan (mickey, minnie, donald, goofy, pluto and possibly daisy duck) but I added tigger because the graphic has him playing the violin which DD loves. First world problems, I know.

This whole project is getting out of control. I've only finished on character and have about 10 to go...and the list keeps growing. Perhaps I should quit my day job and paint crap on people's walls for a living!

You can print that crap on my walls anytime!!

If it was me, I would only paint the classic characters. This is just my opinion because I know my son would want me to add every new character that came out and I'd end up having no wall space...and I'm partial to classic Disney

  5. We upgraded our AP so I'm thinking about visiting a water park tomorrow with my son, weather permitting, and have never been. How does it work? Do you have to wear water shoes or is there a place to put your shoes by the ride? And towels? We can keep those nearby too? I assume there will be lockers? Thanks for answering my stupid questions and anything else you can add  oh and which water park is better?

  6. 10 weeks for us, Jan-Mar and then again all of October. What is good about it, your at DISNEY, we have AP's, but only do the parks for a few hours in the am one or two days a week at most.

We're you able to book that entire time in advance? I was once told you could only book so many weeks at a time and then had to rebook once you got there...which makes no sense to me. Are there extended stay discounts? The most I've stayed was 10 days during the summer.
