  1. Hi Guys....Haven't posted in a LOOOOONG time...Hope everyone is doing well...We will be at the Fort from 12/18 to 12/27...Not sure what loop as of yet...We will have some FWRR spikes with us from a past expedition so if anyone wants to stop by and say "HI" we'll have a few extras to give away...

  2. I use the Kamikaze method...We leave around midnight from Mass and drive through the night...This gets us through CT, NY, NJ without much traffic...I always go by the Tappan Zee bridge as the Cross Bronx and GW in my opinion are nightmares....By 8AM we are going through DC then its smooth sailing for the rest of the day...By 7pm (give or take) we stop at the Walmart in Pooler GA for the night (right at the bottom of the ramp)...Next day we are there by noon...NOt for the faint of heart but if you want more time to play at Walley World it works!

  3. When we were down in December a CM at the fort mentioned they had been trying to catch a large gator which had been eluding them for several weeks...On the same trip we spotted a "have a heart" trap on shore in Frontier land when the park first opened...A few minuets later We spotted this small gator about 20 feet away...So even right in the middle of the Magic Kingdom  they can be found...

  4. We were there back in 2001 and a tropical storm came through...They evacuated us to Port Orleans, pets and all and we parked our trailer in the parking lot of the hotel...Next day we were able to go back to our site...Very professional...Unlike a few years ago when while at the Fort we had a Tornado Warning for the immediate area... Not one person came through the camp to warn people to seek shelter...Fortunately there was no tornado just brief severe T storm but I felt they dropped the ball...

  5. How 'bout a GG Tomorrow evening Sunday 12/27 at our site...117...Let me know if any interest....Nothing fancy bring an appetizer or snack and BYOB....I'll have some beer on hand as well as soft drinks....Could start around 6pm and people can come and go as you please....

YOU MIGHT JUST GET SPIKED....Let me know whose up for it....Cheers!xmas2_zpsob0fgxbg.jpg?1451139737252&1451

  6. We will be at the Fort from 12/20 thru 1/1....If there is any interest in a GG before Christmas perhaps the evening of the 22nd or 23rd let me know...We have requested site 733 (end of 700 loop) but regardless of where we land we would be happy to host....

  7. This will be our second year at the Fort for Christmas...Heading down from New England we try to stay for a 10 day period to give a more time to enjoy everything the parks and the Fort have to offer at this time of year...We really enjoyed the decorations at many of the sites and had a great time decorating ours as well...(Got some neat things planned this year!!)...We hit the parks in the AM and when it becomes too crowded we hit the road back to the Fort...Later in the PM we head back in again....I know not everyone has that much time to spend but if you can it makes the trip much more relaxing...I really enjoyed hanging out at our camp site and having the "sleigh" wagon go by with cast members singing Christmas carols and talking with families as they walk by....Its a much different Christmas experience then being at home but we have really enjoyed it...
