  1. We have 35 foot class C towing a Ford Fiesta.  I had the TST with external flow though caps at the stems.  I had a terrible problem with leakage from the external flow through stems.  I initially really, really liked them but the external flow through stems became too unreliable and too difficult to fill for the rear dullies.  Additionally, the fit with the simulators on the rear and front did not really align.  Now I go without the monitoring. I check all pressures before leaving.   I inspect all tires at every stop using a heat gun.  I WILL change to internal or non flow through at some point.  I also carry a VIAR 400P-RV compressor.

Much like you, our kids are still in school.  We did 15 nights in early June 2017 visiting a park or water park every other day.  The parks were crowded but manageable.  We prefer to go at "rope drop" while it is cool.  Back to the fort for the middle of the day.  Then either back to a park after dark or hangout at the fort (my favorite).  It rained every every afternoon but one.  For us that was fine.  We planned for the rain and napped in the afternoons :-).

  3. We did a similar trip to this in Summer 2016 from the Birmingham area.  Our outward leg was similar to what Specularius posted.

    The outward trip was:

Gladewater, TX, Shallowcreek RV Park,  http://www.shallowcreek.com

Then routed north avoiding Dallas.  Texas state routes were excellent.  Remember most all of them being divided 4 lanes.

Amarillo, TX, Oasis RV Resort, https://www.myrvoasis.com

Gallup, NM, USA RV Park, http://www.usarvpark.com

All of the parks were very nice.

We stayed several days in Gallup with long-ish day trips to the 4 corners and Mesa Verde.

Then into Trailer Village, GCNP .  From there, we moved north to visiting Cedar Breaks, Zion and Bryce.  We then moved east to Moab for Canyonland and Arches.  Finally headed north to Dinosaur then around to RMNP.

So much to see and so little time

  4. We are scheduled to arrive June 7 for 10 days.  We stayed in 931 last time.   I noticed somewhere, perhaps the Fiends App, that some sites in the 800 loop are 18 foot wide.  Anyone have some specific site recommendations in 800?  We have a 35 foot motorhome, 2 teenagers, dog, tow car, golf cart.  Looking for room.  Site 931 was great but a little close to the bus stop with lots of noise.  We like the 800-900 loops for convince to the Meadows area.

On another note, has anyone used an on-line fax service?  Not sure I can fax machine anymore

  5. We are looking to revisit the Fort next June (2017, 30 our 30th anniversary) for a couple of weeks.  The plans is to use the Fort as a base-camp.  We hope to visit the parks plus other Orlando attractions, Cape Canaveral, and Tampa.  This generated a couple of questions:

If we purchase 4 or 5 day tickets, must we use them in consecutive days once we start?

Do we need park-hopper passes to go to a park early in the day then return to the -SAME- park later that day?

Can we purchase a quick-service meal plan for the 4-5 days we plan to visit the parks?

We plan to contact Jason once we firm up our plans.

    Thanks Fiends

    Randy S.

  6. How about security at your site?  Saw some post mentioning locking up your bikes while gone.  Is it advisable to bring everything in/storage while gone?  cooler, zero recliners, etc?

Perhaps not security but RV 'security' questions...

Do you turn water off before leaving for the day?

    Roll in the awning?

    Other items?

    Thanks

    First time poster.

We are making our first RV trip to FW in March 2015.  We stayed in the cabins previously and really enjoyed it.  This will be the first "long" trip in our new 35ft Class C with slides on both sides.

    We requested a Premium Site

Traveling with a small dog (non barking most of the time ;) )

Will be renting a golf cart.

    Some privacy would be nice.

The kids are older so access to a CS in the loop is nice but being real close is not necessary.  Playground is not needed. Wildlife/fishing a plus.

Does anyone have some preferred sites?  I was thinking Loop 900 becuase it appears to have fewer sites but with its own CS and close to the Trading Post.  Thoughts on other loops/sites would be appreciated.

I have the app and have looked over the sites but am looking for "personal" experiences.

Not trying to be too prescriptive but from other post it seems the more info I can provide the better the experts can respond

Also, perhaps more importantly, trying to understand the process for making the specific requests.  When we reserved on-line we did not provide a preferred loop.  Our current thinking is to call/fax in January then follow-up 10-14 days before arrival.

Saw Lou's advice on parking in overflow then visiting the loop to see open sites sounds great.

    Thanks Everyone!
