  1. You gotta be kidding. Disney is for kids.  Kids like chalk.  Maybe you guys can petition them to ban chalk like 3 place strollers and the whole place can just be jazzys and nice sparkling concrete pads.  But they already have those places.  They are not Disney.  They are the stuffy,  uber expensive, mostly seasonal, $100,000 RV and up only resorts.  No thanks.  Well be there chalk drawing the place up and trashing it up with all my kids bikes and toys and strollers.  Cause that’s what makes it great.  Family memories.  I’ll skip the pic of the power washed concrete pad in my scrap book.

  2. Funny comments.  I’ve had the terrible misfortune of having to use a triple strolller.  A double stroller, and some weird slimmed down 2 seat 1 stand on version of a three child transport device.  Any of the “mom bloggers” have every rt to be upset.  I don’t think anyone enjoys using these things.  Try getting on the boat at the fort w one.  Or in a bus.  Or trolly. Or thru a door.  Or strapping it to your golf cart to drive to the bus to push all your kids thru the greatest place on earth. Personal opinion is that I would rather see the jazzys banned before wagons.  We use a wagon everywhere.  It’s way easier and much less difficult to maneuver around.  Not to mention lighter.  We were at an event one night in Hollywood studios and it was so crowded and the jazzys were literally ramming my double stroller off the road.  So while I do think everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy Disney.  Id cast my vote to limiting the jazzy epidemic first.

  3. Yea. I think we’re gonna risk it all in June. The rain is prob the worst threat but I figure we can dodge in somewhere or like bamagrad said, nap. Thats our usual approach anyhow.  Hit parks early.  My kids u are up and ready to go early anyhow.  Come back to fort for relaxing and lunch/pool/nap. Head back after dark. Or just relax more.  Thanksgiving is tempting but I just don’t think we have enough time off school to drive down from PA.  June it is.  Well bring umbrellas I guess.  Luckily I added the double ACs. Unless we’re in direct sun we should be fine.  Maybe leave the dog home this time.

  4. Looking to head back to the fort. With the kids in school we can’t really take them out like we used to. Loved going in November.  So aside from Christmas or thanksgiving, I don’t think this gives us enough time.  We like to travel down slow and make a few stops.  4-5 hrs per day and camp along the way. So we were thinking June.  But all my research says June is pretty swampy and miserable.  Thinking end of August now.  I know it will be hot.  But maybe less wet???  Anyone w kids who has mastered hitting the fort and not missing much school have any tips?

  5. Sign me up for the new Uber premium sites.  If your driving all the way there and spending all the money that is involved w a Disney trip than yea I want the super duper premimum site. Booking our 3rd trip soon. Went down in in November 2015 and again November 2017. Thinking end of August 2020 this time as kids are getting bigger and miss too much if we take them out of school. But if they have better sites avail I’ll take em. We had top tier sites the last 2 times, I never request sites as I don’t feel I know enough to out weigh the luck of the draw.  But honestly they both kinda stunk. Hard to get into and neither one had room to fit my 40’ fifth wheel, crew cab truck,  golf cart and all the accessories that my wife and 3 daughters cart along without the kids having to ride their bikes thru the bushes to get off the site. Sites at yogi bears campgrounds and similar  in the north east are going upwards of 140$ so I’ll pay a little more for Disney.

  6. We have stayed at the fort in 2015 and 2017. Both times in November and both times we booked thru Liberty travel. Mostly because my sister worked there previously and I was tossing her friends some business. Both times I found Libertys deal to be better than the Disney website.  Anyone else using a travel agent? Whose best?  What’s the best deals? Going to book for Nov 2019. I think it opens up the end of this month. Will prob go back thru Liberty unless someone has a better suggestion.

  7. Well. Tried switching party size, called, complained, etc. wife spent hours on the website individually searching every possible reservation combination. They really should just say what is avail instead of asking what you want cause nothing is. Lesson learned. Ended up somehow with chef Mickey for a 2pm brunch, literally the only thing avail. Worst possible time frame for a 3 and 4 yo. Thanks for the help. I'll keep checking but the website is exhausting and not user friendly.

  8. Trying to book BBQ for Thursday nov 19. Thinking it's not released yet. Might be closed. If so I'm bummed. Was looking foreword to it. Girls all really wanted Cinderella royal table. Guess I'm a little shocked by the booking thing. They should defiantly disclose this better. Just saw a Disney resort commercial the other day that shows a happy family checking in and making a reservation for the princess dinner right at the hotel lobby. Clearly that never happens. I guess next time I'll have to set an alarm on the 180th day. Disappointed before I even check in.

  9. We are camping at fort in Nov. We were waiting until the 150 days out to make our reservations for character meals and backyard BBQ. Mostly the BBQ and Cinderella castle. Well it's about 140 days out and just tried to book some stuff and it seems everything and anything is booked solid. Is this for real? Am I missing something? Even BBQ is full. What the heck. Am I supposto stay up till midnight on the 151 day out and book all my stuff. Thinking of canceling and rebooking 10 days later at this point.

  10. First time to the fort. Previous post asking for tips and advice. Got lots of great stuff and have made our reservations and park plan. Now for the trip down. We will be heading from the North East most corner of PA. Got some advice on hear that avoiding the 95 route might be wise. Thinking 84 to 81......to 77......26 to 95. Dosent actually seem any further than the 95 route. And way less congestion. Thinking to stop on the way down twice. First leg leave Friday after work. Drive 5 hrs. Stop in shendahowa valley campground. Second day drive 7-8 hrs stop at new green acres. Sunday drive 5 hrs to fort. Pretty set on that barring any suggestions I get. On the return I think id like to do a little more the first and second leg so I have an easy third day. Anyone got anything good on that route. Side note. We collect campground magnets, I hate stopping at the weird ones that don't have a camp store, thus no magnet. Kinda a pet peeve

  11. Towing TT. 2014 Cherokee 304BH 37' tip to tail

Weight. About 10,000 lb fully loaded

TV. 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Duramax CC 6.5 bed (tuned & modded)

Mileage. 12-13 towing 18-22 reg driving

Likes Love this set up. Had a gas 1500 before with a 6500 lb TT. Boat is about the same. Got 7-8 mpg and shifting

constantly. I know diesel is an upfront cost but worth it in every aspect. Better ride, reliability, mileage.

Changes Would have got a long bed. Would make my golf cart transport much easier.

  12. Well, thanks for all the great advice. This being our first trip with the kids and our first time at the fort we decided to take it "easy". Lots of great tips, tricks and advice here so glad we joined. That said we booked thru my sister ( liberty travel ). She got us a great deal on a top level site. Better than internet. They also have allotments on sites when it might seem all booked. Don't think I will request a particular loop. Never been. Maybe just see for myself this time. All the posts on that topic seem to say it a matter of personal preference. We decided to do the memory maker. +-$160. The comment that I could enjoy myself without being the photographer sold me. We also decided on 2 day tix. I think we are gonna do MK both days. Sunday check in relax. Monday at MK. Tues explore FW and DD chip and dale campfire and movie. Wednesday MK and princess castle dinner. Thurs FW relax and Mickey backyard BBQ. Friday hit the road. Kids are young and I think ( with all your help) that this will help us get the most out of our trip without overdoing it. Thanks for all the warm welcomes and help. Can't wait to go!!!

  13. Have not even been yet, booked for Nov ( first time). It's a great rate. Maybe some of you are spoiled, but in the northeast prices like the Fort's are the norm at far less " inclusive" campgrounds. I have Memorial Day booked at a Yogi Bears in NY it's $78 per night. Jersey Shore in July is over $100 with tax. Long Beach Island NJ is $68 in...October...Burrrrrr. The rest are in the 45-50 dollar range for full hookups. So..... Considering that I was ecstatic to see how " reasonable " the Fort prices were.

  14. Wow. All good info. Keep it coming. Sounds like there's lots to do at Fort itself? That sounds great. More tips on that please. My sister is a liberty travel agent and is telling me I need the " memory maker". Is it worth it, do you get lots of pics? Do you guys recommend park hopping, or stick w one per day. I only planned MK and safari. But if all the Disney Jr. stuff is in Hollywood that is gonna be my third day. Such a cool forum!!!!!

  15. I was to Disney as a kid, as was my wife. 20+ years ago. Half days sound good. Don't know how much of the park I can expect to cover in a day. With kids. Want to see everything. Didn't know how long it would take to get from fort to parks and back. Is returning for naps feasible or does it take to long. Planning to just do the safari and magic kingdom. Kids are obsessed with Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Jake and the Nederland pirates shows.

  16. I have booked a trip to the fort in Nov. This is our first time. We will be traveling from Northern PA. Thinking about stopping at South Of The Border for the night on way down. Maybe two stops on way back. New Green Acres SC and Yogi Bears Emporia VA. That said I know nothing. I have been lurking on your forum for months reading old posts. Decided to sign up and join the fun. We're soooooooo excited. About us. Wife and I, and our girls (2) (4). We have a 35'TT. Not bringing the dogs. Might bring the golf cart. Wanna focus on stuff for the kids. Staying at the fort Sunday - checking out Friday. 5 nights. Thinking of doing 2 day passes. Should I do 3. 4. Or is 2 good. Kids are little, tire out quick. What do I need to know, do, go, eat, etc. any and all tips welcome. Looking foreword to joining your obsession and making this a family tradition.
