This is the thread that never ends.
Edit: my little music notes didn't work.

CJHokie got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Chicken wire Christmas light balls
Thanks, guys.  I finished the snowman.  My son says the ears do not look like MM.  Everyone's a critic, I swear. Though I will secretly agree with him that the ones on the balls look better

I am going to have to find some kind of stake or something as it is a little top heavy.  The balls will just hang from whatever I can find to hang them on.

Anyone familiar with these? I started seeing them on the interwebs a year or two ago.  Apparently they have been a big thing in Greensboro, NC for years.

Anyhoo, I thought I would try to make some this year to take to Ft. Wilderness.  And then one night I had an epiphany - add two tiny balls on top for mouse ears. I also made one snowman with mouse ears but haven't put the lights on yet.

Here are a couple of pics.

They should do a test on how I always get drenched when others in my family just get a few drops.

CJHokie got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Disney Park Map Pouches
As promised, here are the pics from trying this. I wish I could make them smaller, but I'm not seeing how right now. (My notes are just an added bonus!  )

    1) I think the maps are from 2004! Pretty sure we went that year, and MK one says "Soarin' coming in 2005".
    2) I used MK and MGM/HS. Was a tough choice, but EC and MK were weirdly shaped.  I may still make another, bigger one with those.
    3) Would've made a bigger one, but that was the biggest zipper I had on hand. It is propped against my iPad mini for some perspective. I should've put a little loop for a key ring or lobster clasp to attach to a bag or shorts.
    4) The iron-on vinyl worked well on the 1st one, but the 2nd one got a little bubbly, so I guess the iron got too hot. (I used a teflon pressing sheet between the iron and the vinyl.) It was pretty smooth looking until...
    5) the incredibly hard step of turning right side out. You can see how wrinkly that made it. The original sweet tooth pouch maker said to leave a bigger hole in the lining for the turning, and she wasn't kidding. It is really hard to work with vinyl covered paper. I would advise leaving the whole bottom undone before turning.
    6) I would also advise top stitching the liner beside the zipper before sewing up the pouch.  My liner kept getting zipped up, so as you can see in the pic, I did a not so great looking stitch after the fact.
    7) I was reading on Pinterest that you can make your own laminated fabric just by using the iron-on vinyl, so I tried it out on a scrap of the liner fabric. That turned out fantastic! I may make a waterproof pouch with that instead of more maps/paper.
    I think that's it!

CJHokie reacted to BuckeyeFortFan in 2015 College Football Thread... Here we go!
Oh....you never know. The Buckeyes have a few key players on the bench, they are away, and they never have done well as the favorite. We still don't know who the quarterback will be and the most experienced receiver is Braxton "ligaments of glass" Miller. It will be interesting for sure.

Here are a couple of pics from our first trip to the Fort. Notice the dog hiding under the picnic table.

CJHokie got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Outdoor Movie Screens
I realize this thread is super old but just wanted to chime in in case someone else is in the market that we have the screen in the link above and love it.  Have had movie nights at several campgrounds.

We did have an inflatable one before, but it was too loud and people like me who can't hear dialog over background noise didn't like it.

Alright, I read somewhere that the Premium sites have square 4'x4' tables and the pics on Disney seem to confirm that.  So, carry on.

CJHokie got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Campgrounds On/At the Beach
We loved Camp Gulf in Destin (well, Miramar Beach to be more precise).  Definitely plan to go back.  Would go all the time if it didn't take so long to get there from here.

Have also stayed at Bryn Mawr in St. Augustine.  Not the nicest campground, but proximity to beach was excellent.

My SIL stayed at North Beach (St. Aug as well?) and liked it, but you have to cross the road to get to the beach.

My camping friends have done Hunting Island SP, SC, and loved it.

We have also done Jekyll Island, GA, but it rained the whole time so I never actually saw how far the campground was from the beach.

We stayed at Hanna Park in Jax.  It's a short bike ride to the beach.  That was the same trip as Destin but after, so the beach looked hideous, but it's probably nice and we are spoiled now.

    Oh, hi, everyone!
