  1. Thanks! yes River Ranch is the one that I was referring to.
  2. Since the Fort is booked for Thanksgiving, no shock there, I'm looking for another kid firendly campground. Can you make any recommendations? I have heard the following thus far, have no experience with any of them: 1. Fort Clinch 2. Salt Springs 3. Tropical Palm Rv Resort 4. Westgate Resort Any others? Any experience with any of these? We have an 8yr old girl so kid friendly parks are a big thing for us. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  3. Got the fridge fix so since we ended up canceling and no more availability I started hunting down to see what good options there were. Thanks to another post from another member, we were able to find Sanlan (www.sanlan.com). While it's no Disney and it's not as kid friendly, in my opinion, it is a great RV park. The trails are great, the people extremely friendly and the park itself is clean and very well kept. Thanks for the review of another member here. Will surely revisit. Will prob. do the Fort after spring break so it's not so crazy.
  4. Thanks. All good info. We ended up having to cancel today because the fridge is not cooling down. Wouldn't come down from 50 degrees and since we were staying 8 nights I wasn't going to resort to coolers. Very frustrating! At least manufacturer is standing behind their coach but gosh, what is it with these manufacturers...I have now tried over 4 or 5 different manufacturers - they are all the same. Seems quantity is more important than quality. Maybe that's why airstream's are so expensive.
  5. Thanks. Not sure if you know but do I just go to the Wilderness Lodge and show/tell them I'm camping to get in or? I recall last time I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge I had to use my room key to get into the fitness room. Would my key work or would I have to go to the front desk and have them modify or give me a new one just so I can get in?
  6. Not that there isn't enough land to walk in the Fort, but do does anyone know what one's options are if they wanted to use an actual machine such as an elliptical or treadmill which is normally found an a fitness room? I understand the Fort doesn't have one and I was told I could take the bus and go to any other Disney Resort and use theirs, however; last time I was there that was not the case and was told once I got there that only guests staying at that particular resort were only allowed to use it. Any ideas? Searching the forums did not return anything.
  7. So this may be a moot point if you've already bought something not sure but I'll put in my .02 We always had TT's with the exception of one time where we had a Forest River drivable; something I will never repeat in the future unless it's a diesel pusher. Anyway, since a new diesel pusher and even used model is out of our price range we always went with TT's. To me they were always easy to drive and pull as long as you had the right tow vehicle. Last year we made the leap into a 5er, one which we hope to keep for a very long time given the hole it has made on my jean pockets...:) but we als
  8. Thank you all very much for the help - researching the suggestions yielded great, great must visit CG's. I can't wait to hit up Stone Mountain in 2016, that park looks like a ton of fun.
  9. Ah, yes that would not work for me. I'm the type that would pull over, spin up the genset and cut the trees from the electrical branch cutter I keep in the coach or turn around. Too concerned with damage side and topside :) We own some property near Madison FL that we just came back from and we had to do exactly that because where the property is its' pretty primitive so dirt road and tree growth everywhere. Primitive - but we added well water and electric Thanks for the great info!
  10. Thanks going to look into this one tomorrow.
  11. Thank you all for the recommendations. Going to look at the SC one too. That stone nountain one looks fantastic. Looked at a couple of St. Augustine too but looks like everything's booked Not that it's a big deal since we're booked at the Fort for now but would of been nice to see other Holiday destinations with cooler weather. Being from Florida I welcome 30's - 50's. Looks like this year it's going to a very warm Xmas season. Which I'm sure it's welcoming for some of the northern states folks.
  12. Thanks - looks like a very nice place. How's the parking and spaces?
  13. Someone else also suggested that. It looks great, will have to add to the list. Unfortunately they are booked up for new years As to what to do, as much as possible. We like to be active so biking, hiking, and some local specialty places as well check out the town and do some unnecessary shopping, etc. :) On a side note, not sure why but this post got duplicated not sure why.
  14. Can anyone offer some kid friendly recommendations for any GA campgrounds for big rigs? Wife may want to entertain not going to FW this year so looking to see if there are any alternatives where it may be a little cooler and it's under a 10hr trip. Thx in advance.
  15. Thank you all for the great responses and assistance. I'm looking forward to it. If anyone is there and want some free entertainment you can pull up a lawn chair and a cup of your favorite drink while I try to maneuver this thing :) I have a newfound respect for truck drivers!
  16. Too funny! Sure thing. Always looking forward to meeting new folks.
  17. I meant newbie to this forum, sorry for the confusion. The last loop I was at was the 300's, same time of year, we arrived around 4pm and there was a large party of about 4 or campers together that had several carts and 2 pickup trucks protruding out into the street and someone even went through the trouble of putting together a skate ramp in the middle of the road. Took 45min to get these folks to move everything because the folks with the keys and adults were no where to be found. Not a fun experience at all. I know it's not a premium site but I felt it was a bit tight, maybe it's just m
  18. Would love to hear from folks with big rigs as to preference between the 500.800 and 900 loops...thx in advance.
  19. My concern is not fitting. My concern is driving through the tight loops with all the side obstructions from other campers. Been there many times in past woth30' TT and I've had to ask people to move their carts and block party style setups just so I could drive through the loop - 1st time with such a large rig.
  20. Thank you both. It's going to be interesting. I'll take a look at the 500 loop.
  21. Thanks. I understand these requests need to be faxed in? Anyone have the fax number handy or can point me in the right direction.
