  1. I haven't been on ff.net in almost a year but came back to this trip report.  Then I went back and read all your other reports from December, New Year's, spring break and the day trips.  Thanks for the good reading!  I even read a few other trip reports, too.  My husband is on a business trip and I have insomnia so this has helped pass the time  I logged back on because we are finally a year out from our next trip!  I know still a long time away but I can start getting excited now.  We have only been that one time during the summer of 2011 so this is a long time coming.

Unfortunately, we won't be staying at the Fort this time around.  Our popup is too small for us now that we have another child.  It's fine for weekend trips but we'd get cramped quickly on a long Disney trip.  We were hoping to upgrade but that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.  However, we are almost positive we are going to stay in a suite at Art of Animation.  I think my almost 2 year old will love the Cars suite.  :)  After a week we are going to switch to a Universal hotel so that we can see all the Harry Potter stuff.  We are HP nerds over here so that's almost more exciting for us than Disney.

So I wanted to make some comments from everything I've read but I didn't take notes and mostly forgot what I was going to say.   Bad memory---Oops!

I have heard about the Osbourne lights for years but never realized until you wrote the guy from Arkansas that Osbourne is the same guy that my husband talks about every time we visit his family in Little Rock.  My husband has fond memories of his Christmas lights and points out the house to me every time we pass it.  :)

Love the bonus pictures of France, England and Ireland.  :)

I have enjoyed all of your pictures and learning about fastpass + and magic bands.  Only picking 3 things is going to be hard.  But I maybe able to take advantage of ride swap since right now my little guy is 35 inches?  I am not quite sure how that works but I have plenty of time to learn about it.

My friend is on her way there to DW now.  She doesn't like taking advice or researching.  She has no clue about fastpass or getting to the parks early. Pretty sure she is going to have some very disappointed kids when they learn of the very long Elsa and Anna wait.  I tried to tell her but she blew me off so I left it alone.  Hoping it goes well for her.

Thanks again for these great reports.  :)

  2. Congratulations! I have an 11 month old boy. Time flies once they get here. Last year at this time I was miserable and now my sweet baby is 1 month away from being a year old. He is climbing everything and into everything all day long. :)

We got a seat near the window at Ohanas but we were there for character breakfast. My big kids love Lilo and Stitch so I don't even remember looking out it. We were too focused on characters.

  3. This trip report just helped me out. :)

We are about to travel to Mt. Rushmore from Moore, Ok in 2 weeks.  North Platte is about 500 miles away and that's about how much we like to drive in one day. We will stop there for the night.  I think we'll go to Fort Cody and I'll put Runza and Taco Johns on our list of places we should eat at.  Thanks!

  4. I loved this trip report.  I loved seeing pictures of your two beautiful daughters. Love their gorgeous hair.  My 10 month old son has light red hair and I hope it stays. My mom is red headed and my husband's side also has red hair so we'll see.

Lady Tremaine and her daughters look like they were a lot of fun.  :)

  5. Hello,  I have been MIA for at least a year and a half.  I went to Disney in June/July 2011 and even met you while I was there.  Then I came home made a trip report.  Life got busy and I forgot to come back.  Here's one of the reason's life got busy.  Chase was born in August last year.005_zps76e0df42.jpg

My neighbor just got back from staying in a cabin at the Fort so I decided to come see how things were doing here.  And of course the first trip report I see is yours. :)  And then I read it-took me 5 days- and it made me teary.  Kids grow up way too quickly.  My oldest is 11 and my daughter who turned 6 when we were at Disney will now be 8 in a couple of weeks.  She is already starting to forget our Disney trip. :(

Congratulations to your daughters. :)  I love the dorm room and the expensive Ariel shower curtain.

So let's see if I can remember what I wanted to say.

My big kids sat with me while we looked at the Star Wars parade pics.  They could name every character.  I guess that makes them Star Wars geeks.  We are finally going to have a return trip in May/June 2015. I wanted to come next year but I don't think Disney will be much fun with a 1 almost 2 year old. Anyway, I wasn't planning on doing a Star Wars weekend especially after seeing your crowd pics but maybe I will plan on spending two days at DHS so my geeks can see the Star Wars stuff.  That's a long way off so no need to think about it now.

My son enjoyed the 7 minute video so you made at least one person happy by posting it. :)

And my best friend has an rv with a bathroom door like that.  She loves it.  She has 3 young kids so its nice for them to not track dirt in through the whole rv just to use the restroom. She's planning a Disney trip for the same time we are.  I am trying to convince her to come camp at the Fort but she thinks gas from Oklahoma to there will be way too much.  We have two years to save so maybe I can get her on board.

I am sure I had more to say but I can't seem to remember it.  I am going to try and stay around so I can read more trip reports.  Summer is easy for me but I homeschool the oldest one so that makes it a bit tough to keep up during the school year but I will try. :)

  6. Hello!

It's been a month since I've been here. I've been busy with volunteering for the cub scouts and PTA and substitute teaching at my kids' school. Darn all of that stuff getting in the way of reading this board. I miss this place. The good news for me is I came back to a trip report from TCD.

    Happy belated Birthday. :)

I enjoyed your report as usual. :)

Loved the Rocky pics. He's so handsome.

I must figure out a way to get back there sooner rather than later. Although, I think sooner will still be at least 2013. :(

  7. I've been busy the past couple of weeks with school starting back up and getting the house organized. You'd think I'd have a lot of time to read the board since both kids are at school but I've spent my days cleaning out closets and rooms. I've missed out on so much around here. But I just spent the past hour catching up on this report. :) I'll have to catch up on the others later because my eyes are tired.

I've enjoyed this report. We didn't get a chance to visit the other resorts (besides the Contemporary when we got on the monorail) so it's nice to see at least one of the resorts in pictures. :)

  8. Just got caught up. :)

My daughter loves Marie and all her other pets, too. She has a full size bed and half of it is taken up by her animals. She's not really into baby dolls but she loves stuffed animals. She can never have enough!

That's wonderful about your WL meal. Yum!

The back of the suv brought tears to my eyes. My husband used to work on helicopters in the marines. He didn't go up in them often but it always scared me to death when he did. My heart breaks for all of their families.

I am sad that we missed out on so much at Animal Kingdom. That was the day the rain came down in full force. We could have pushed through it but none of us were feeling up to be drenched the whole afternoon. But as I tell the kids it just gives us something to look forward to the next time we come. :)

  9. Wow! What a great story.

I'm not sure if I can keep on reading this trip report.

I keep on getting choked up when I read it.

I am so glad that you family, and especially your daughter, was able to experience this much magic at a very difficult time in your lives.

I keep getting choked up, too. cry.gif

    Loving this report, though.

  10. Pray that a tropical storm heads to TX in the near future. We haven't had measurable rain at my house since May. We've had 31 days over 100 in a row. It was 87 when I left home this morning at 6:15 AM. The news people are saying that most people (probably not those on the coast) would take the damage associated with a catagory 1-2 storm to get the rain associated with it.

I hear ya, Judy. Same thing up here in Oklahoma. Today it's going to be 109. I love summer, but not this. I told my husband that if it weren't for my family and friends holding me back I'd put the house up for sale and have him look for a job in another state. He's a government employee so it'd be fairly easy, but I don't want to move my kids away from their grandparents. Our winter was extremely cold and now our summer is extremely hot. This better not be our new normal.

  11. Thanks for reading, Dave. I am amazed you sat through it all in one sitting. It must not have been too boring, thank goodness.

Ikea Is like a 5th theme park. :) Hoping to take my friend down to the one in Texas soon. She's never been and I must fix that.

My other good friend just landed in Orlando a few hours ago. I am a tiny bit jealous.

  12. Dollywood reminds me of Silver Dollar City. I can see why you like it so much. I love SDC. I started going there when I was 8 and everytime I go it feels like home even though it's a theme park. SDC has that big circle ride that spins and goes back and forth. It was a ton of fun but boy did I feel sick afterwards. I very much enjoyed your trip report. One day we will make it out there for a vacation.

  13. We love bugs life never scared my nephews. But they like bugs.

You have some brave nephews. I admit that I was a tiny bit scared.

What a great report from the fort. One of these days a trip to the fort will be able to hit all the places you did. It had to be one of the ultimate vacations to hit all the parks, goto some of the best resaurants, hit some of the more non-famous attractions disney has to offer and....stay at the fort. What more could one want? I'm glad you all had a magical time

Thank you very much for your kind words. :) I still can't get over how much fun we had. I've made 5 photobooks so far from the pictures we took and I only made it through 5 days of our vacation. :) I am glad we have so many pictures to help me to remember what a wonderful trip we had.
