  1. We are taking a different route from my friends that have gone from here. We are going I-40 to Memphis and then cutting down through Mississppi, Montgomery, Alabama, Albany,Georgia and then getting on I-75. Everyone else I know goes from here to Dallas, then through Lousisiana and onto I-10. We went to New Orleans a few months ago and we didn't care for the drive from Shreveport south. We know I-40 well so that's what we are going with. I have no clue how the drive is going to be through Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia, but it will be a new adventure for us. :)

  2. Can I take a moment to scream? No? The kids are in bed. I shouldn't. So instead I'll post a dancing banana or two or three...

We have the popup loaded, the trunk of our suv is loaded and we are ready to leave at 7am in the morning. We are driving 500 miles tomorrow, another 500 on Sunday and the rest Monday morning.

I think I had better take a few meletonin tonight or I just might not sleep. I think I am more excited than the kids but I don't think they understand that Walt Disney World is a lot bigger than our little Frontier City amusement park. They'll be in for a huge surprise. I think I may cry when we get there.

  3. Well don't be a stranger! If you see a snarky sign stop and say hello, pull up a chair and shoot the ummm, well chat a while, it will be nice to meet new fiends.

Thanks and we should be easy to spot as well. We are from Oklahoma but my husband is a die hard Arkansas Razorbacks fan (born and raised in Arkansas) so we'll be sporting some Razorback items. He just repainted our camper and I am quiet surprised he didn't put a giant Razorback sticker on it when he was done. Instead he just got two little ones that he put on the air conditioner.

  4. I was sent here from a couple of people that welcomed me to the board. We will be at the fort and Disney for the first time from June 27-July8th. We'll be staying in our popup camper hopefully in the 1500 loop. My dh just faxed the request to them today. We leave Saturday morning!

  5. I enjoyed reading your report. Also, thanks for the tip on Pocahontas. My best friend's five year old daugther loves Pocahontas and I told her if I got to meet Pocahontas I'd get her autograph and a picture and give it her. I love that little girl like she's my own niece so we'll definitely get over to Planet Watch. Plus, my own kids will love it.

  6. Thanks  And yes I plan on taking lots of food pictures. I like food pictures of kitties, too. I have heard good things about the cream cheese pretzel. I want that. And I saw a picture of a butterfinger cupcake. Mmm... just a few more days. We'll be there from June 27th- July 8th. Yay!

  7. I just joined and I am so glad to see you over here. I stumbled upon one of your trip reports over a year ago. I found more of your reports and read them and decided my family had to stay at the fort when we made our first trip to Disney. I was sad when I realized you and everyone else were gone from the other site. I had taken a bit of a break and missed it all. We are getting ready to leave for Disney and I got to thinking that you all had to be somewhere on the web. I went searching and found everyone. I have spent the past couple of days reading your trip reports and many of the other posts here and now I am even more excited to go! Thank you. We leave on Saturday and I am all packed and ready to go. That gives me 2 days to read some other trip reports.

And your picture of the chuck house menu was good for me. I should have known Disney would charge for marshmallow roasting sticks. I just pulled ours out of the attic so that they can make the trip with us. No need to buy some when we already own them.
