Just two (6 and 3).. I should probably update my info and add a trip count down and that stuff (ok I am being lazy).

Undecided this year but will probably go out. No overnight camping (got that out of my system at Circuit City about 5 years ago). I tend to be a deal sniper anymore. Target what you want, get in, grab it, get out and get back to bed. Will probably be after a few toys for the kids but haven't seen anything else I can't live without. Another site out there is fatwallet (again Jen remove if a no no).

Here is tenative plan (seeing that I have no idea what I am after).

Eat Turkey about 1 pm

Sleep 3 pm to 6 pm

Hit 11pm/Midnight sale

Go to a 4 or 5 am opening

Be in bed by 6 am for a few hours.

We always tend to be snack poor (ok not really). My theory is for every dollar you spend on snacks at walmart or the grocery store you save $4 or $5 over buying them in Disney. I can either pack it and enjoy a week at Disney or buy in the park and be lucky to be there for 4 days. The kids don't really know the difference because we always buy them special treats from the grocery store.

We pack what ever snacks everyone wants (chips, crackers, veggies, cookies, etc). The key being we always have a stroller to push the soft side cooler around in. We also take sandwiches and drinks (pop, water, caprisun).

Never stayed at the campground but stayed at the motel about 15 year ago when I was a kid. When I was a kid about every 15 to 20 miles or less you would pass a bill board with South of the Border advertised. Needless to say we joked about it for years and one time we had to stop to check it out. It was older then, not sure if they have remodeled since.

Ok you guys can still comment. It is a trip report after all and we all love a trip report.

Glad they have joined us too but they may not want to "out" themselves if they like visiting other boards. Don't get me wrong I love this board but I visit several. But we know moderator's from other LGMH boards visit just looking to ban people from their board (good business model isn't it?)

Sorry for Hijacking.. now back to our regularly scheduled TCD trip report.

My parents just did this. One thing is it is a long time on your feet. Over all I think they gave it a ho-hum. With something being neat and other things not so special. It wasn't exactly what they expected. They expected more time behind the scenes and underground. I can pass along their contact info if you want to ask them about it (they did it just last week).

Ok.. atleast you have been productive adding good content :laundry2: but we are still waiting on the trip report!!

We stayed in Bethesda, MD.. you could walk to the subway and be down town in about 20 min.

You can probably find a couple of nice used Class C's or Class A's. I know my parents 2003 Class A sold for $60k which seems like a lot.. except it was 3 times that new. Hence the reason my brother and I tease my parents about spending our inheritance. But they do let us camp with them at Disney so I guess the upgrade was worth it. :wiz: I guess I can give up the inheritance for free camping at disney.

"Small" has nothing to do with it.. ;D Just most all of the Class A's seem to be set up for retired couples (like my parents). It is hard to find one set up for a family. But I guess they cater to the people with the money. :faceplant2:

We've had 6 adults and 2 kids in my parents 43' HR Endeavor. A little tight but we made it a week.. may be a week and a half next year at Disney.

BTW for anyone reading this post. It seems the only thing you have to do to join the Fort Fiends is join in.

Thanksgiving 2012. Our normal visit time, looking at Nov 21 to Dec 3, 2012. If there is anyone else headed to FW then check my thread in the Trip section. Forgot to add sorry will miss you guys at Halloween but Thanksgiving seems to work better for us.

No longer a guest. I am glad I found my way over here. I am mainly a lurker and appreciate all the information I have learned from you guys over the years (yes dating back to 2006). Visit FW about every 3 years and looks like 2012 is time again. :jumpforjoy Hope to run into some of you there again (got to see Shanta in 2009 in HS checking out the Christmas lights).
