  1. Ya'll can add me to this list.... sortof....

I'll be in Orlando the 18th and 19th for work and my flight isn't until 4:30 on the 20th!

I plan to wander that way after work on the 19th and then for the day on the 20th :)

(I will probably also finagle some time down there over New Years and drag Rick with me :) )

    That's great!

  2. If the Big 12 would have used their own tie-breaker rules and declared Baylor the outright champion, i believe they would have strengthened themselves versus Ohio State's bid.

Also, i am no Ohio State fan by any means and would love to see any other team in the playoff besides them but....

That being said, they lost to Virginia Tech who by all accounts was horrible this year.

However, they were using a young, unproven QB after their Heisman trophy candidate QB went down for the season. They did have one hiccup but then won 11 straight including a conference championship 59-0, using their 3rd string QB who was also making his debut, after the second string QB went down in the final regular season game. That was nothing short of impressive. They dismantled a good football team last Saturday. That victory capped a strong finish and made it easy for the committee to pick OSU over Baylor and TCU when the Big 12 did not declare an outright champion.

The committee's screwup in my opinion was having TCU ranked ahead of Baylor in the first place.

I have disagreed with the committee after every set of rankings and I think the system is extremely flawed, but the Big 12 and its leader did not do themselves any favors either. I am a fan of a 12 team system where the top 4 teams get first round byes. 5 conference champions and 7 wild cards. You would get a true champion from that gauntlet.

The Big 12 is going to have issues as long as there is one set of rules for the Longhorns and another set for the other member schools.

The Longhorn network is the Big 12's undoing......along with its refusal to name an outright champion based on tiebreaker rules.

I commend them for playing 9 conference games. The big ten is also going to a 9 game conference schedule, but they need to even the playing field regarding the Longhorns and add two more teams.

Excuse me! Back off my Longhorns! Lol
