  1. Well...once again I stand corrected.  Back in the 90's, it was limited to Florida high schools only.  Now, everyone gets to join in the fun!!  ;D

Actually, as far back as the late 70's & early 80's when I went every year as a chaperon it was for schools nationwide.  In the chaperon center we used to have a contest for the school that traveled the farthest distance.  A couple of years I went it was won by schools from Alaska.
  2. not to mention you'd need a CDL to drive that, wouldn't you?

Nope, by it's name, a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) is only needed to drive specific classes of commercial vehicles.  While a few states have started requiring a similar non-commercial drivers license many still do not.  You will see many commercial looking tractors pulling fifth wheels with "Private Coach" or similar things painted on the doors or fenders to notify law enforcement that it is not a commercial vehicle.  It is along the same lines that RV's do not have to drive through the scales that ll commercial vehicles have to.

This spring will see the last Grad Nite celebrations at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World announced Wednesday.

Disney World says the increase in theme park attendance in the spring has made scheduling the after-hours, separate-ticket event for high school seniors increasingly difficult. As an alternative, Disney will offer Florida school groups a special one-day, one-park ticket for $55 valid any time during the year.

  4. Is the mouse getting greedy, probably yes - but....

Pricing is set just like everything else, supply and demand.  The dates you are looking for are in the middle of "peak season" due to spring break visitors.  There is a lot of demand and very little supply.

You are not being given a discount, those are full rack rates.  Peak season runs Feb 21 - April 16 with base pricing (no tax) for a Preferred site is $102 per night during the week and $105 Friday/Saturday nights.
