I really enjoyed whale watches. It can be VERY rocky in those boats, so take care if anyone is remotely prone to seasickness. I grew up about 10 miles from Boston, so probably went on three whale watches as school trips. On the eating lobster front, I'm with you! I'm going to see about finding a nice restaurant for lunch in each port. Thanks for posting that video! I'm getting so excited! One day till online check-in!

I love the look of those paddle-wheel boats. We have one that does dinner cruises on the river here in Pittsburgh. I've got to get on that some day. Maybe this summer! My mom and I are from Boston and my aunts live in Maine, so I wasn't so excited about Whale Watches and all the "Yay, touch a lobster" things. Too many whale watches while I was in school! Thanks! Thanks! I thought I'd seen a reference to an "Introduce Yourself" thread, but couldn't find it, so I ended up back here. Where the heck is it? I'm definitely considering a trip to the fort. I may end up in a cabin the first time, unless I can convince my husband that we could handle one of those rented RVs. I seem to remember that there was someone who would set up the camper for you in advance. I read many, many, many posts on the old camping board (not just trip reports), but I've been away from it ever since you were banned and everyone else vacated. I thought you didn't read

I'm glad I finally found this board. I loved reading all of the posts on the old board, reading trip reports and checking out all of your photos! I've never stayed at the fort (and have never actually camped), but I am so tempted, after reading all of your reports!
