  1. I was on the Oasis on that cruise.  The seas were rough at cozumel during the day but had calmed during the evening, though it was still rough.  The ship was not doing any major "rocking and rolling".  I have a pretty weak stomach and was seasick earlier in the day but not in the evening.   My husband and I were out walking the track (on the 5th deck)  in the evening.   I would NOT have been out walking anywhere if the ship was rocking and rolling.  I would be curled up in bed in a fetal position.  Anyways,  I don't recall any huge waves coming up onto the 5th deck during the time we were out walking.   I don't recall the deck being particularly wet in any area either so not too much sea spray.  Deck five is where the track is (mostly enclosed) and it is also the  deck where the life rafts are located and it is the first "open deck" that passengers are allowed out on....I don't know if crew had access to lower decks, I suppose they did so maybe this passenger was on a deck that only crew could access and  he had no business being on that deck?  They also close off the decks to passengers when it is too windy or dangerous for passengers to be out on them.  I don't know what happened but it seems odd that no one recalls the ship being hit with a wave that would knock a passenger off the 5th deck (or higher).  I've seen a news story that RCL verified a passenger went off the ship into the water and was rescued by the Disney ship so something happened.  How and why?  That is the mystery.

  2. I'm pretty sure that the yellow flies are hanging around outside my RV door waiting for me to come out because every time I try to sit out under the awning, the flies appear.  I got 5 new bites today...in the middle of the day.  I did manage to swat one of those nasty little suckers out of the air.  It was stunned and dropped to the ground and I finished it off.  I will have welts from those bites for the rest of the summer.  I think I must be allergic to them.

  3. I am an infrequent poster here and was the same on the other place but I usually checked in on a regular basis to see what was happening. During the "great flush", I wasn't checking in at all...I was at the Fort, without internet access. When I came home I noticed a void. You were all gone so I went hunting. It took me a while. I checked a lot on the other board at first, but any and all references to what happened was deleted and discouraged and more people seemed to disappear if they asked. I didn't want to "disappear" (didn't want to be wearing cement galoshes at the bottom of the Atlantic) so I searched on my own, without success. I had all but stopped looking at the other board altogether. What's remains on that board is pathetic and now much of the information being given is not entirely accurate.

One day, in April as I was preparing to travel to the Fort I was checking the Facebook group, "I love camping at FW (or something like that)to try to see if there was information there. Lo and behold, there was a little post about fortfiends.net on one of the threads. So I headed over and here I am. Even if I had missed you then, turns out that I would have eventually found you. During my summer trip a lovely calling card was left for me on my chair at my campsite.

  4. From the Disney Parks blog...

I remember it well... I also recall the little "chuck wagon" truck that came around the loops in the morning bringing fresh fruits and other foods. I recall when trams were used to move guests around the campground, not busses and there were no guests in golf carts. Most people were in tents or pop-ups, though there were a few motor homes. I have a picture of me with a deer that came onto the campsite. It was eating out of my hand and quite willing to "pose" for a picture. The beach was open. You could swim out to a small floating dock. There were a lot fewer loops back then. Yeah, I've been coming here for a very long time.

  5. We stayed there on our way to WDW after a cross country trip a few years back. If we were in the area again, we would seek it out. We were there with our 4 kids, two were teens and they enjoyed it as much as the young ones did (a 10 year old and a 4 year old). At the time, horseback rides were offered and we enjoyed that immensely.
