I love the perspective in this picture!

As Anna does to all the Fiends, she has captured the YC clan's hearts.  I would chase after her all day.  We had a great time on this day when Anna wanted to continue to walk with us as we were going to our site after breakfast.  We were able to snap a few good pixs.

    Go Braves.

Seeing this picture made me think of TCD, and his hammock, and one of his quotes. But in this case, "It's good to be Anna" It appears she is having the time of her life there.

edit: yay for post number 100 for me! :jumpforjoy

  2. I am with the just pick a date and we will try to make it group.

I could get on board with this plan... We do have several trips planned already for next year but would love to make an appearance at a GG

Just throwing it out there......Desoto State Park in Ft Payne, AL is very nice. They have full hook ups and "buddy sites".

Another park on my list of places to see. Hookups are not an issue for us.

Where-ever it is I'll be chillin and hanging out, need Fiend time! not tourist attractions.

Chilling and hanging out sounds like an perfect idea. There are times I want to do the tourist stuff but that rarely happens. I'd just assume kick back in a chair with the beverage of my choice and watch the day go by.

  3. d4andtrail_zps31837fac.jpg don't know if any of you saw this Powerhouse Coach on epic RVs but he pulls a large boat behind this. From what I was told by a friend who drives an 18 wheeler there is no limit on interstate highways and as long as you don't abuse it cops will leave you alone. Also the rules are different for RVs.

    D

If I remember right this guys has a boat he pulls behind the trailer, might even be painted to match. On the front of the boat trailer there is a jetski on either side of the hull. It's a pretty nice $etup he ha$.

  4.

What was I thinking?  Scratch the IV idea.  how about a funnel?

That could work, would be efficient and provide the desired ability to taste.

Go Vols,  We will continue to take some lumps but it will turn out fine.   We went 5-6 in 88 and bounced back to 11-1 in 89. If we did it once we can do it again soon.

If you have any contacts left, please call them and tell them to hurry :)

It's getting painful at this point.

So at some point after dark, one of the Fiends (I'm sorry I don't know who) got out a bunch of glow necklaces.  Every Fiend between 7 and 15 was wearing them around their neck

Target usually has those glow necklaces\bracelets in the dollar section at the front of the store. Every once and a while you can find then 50% off.....that's 50 cents per necklace and\or bracelet. I gladly purchase about $10 at a time to provide the kids endless entertainment in the evening adults some time not worrying about the kids.

  5. Caught up and have a few comments:

    1. the bucket of gravy. Yes, that is fantastic. Did it not come with a straw or an IV delivery system?

    2. Bacon - Have you ever tried Bentons Bacon? It is made in East TN and apparently is all the rage these days.

    3. Nice sweatshirt YC....go vols.

    4. Glad the emergency was handled swiftly and there were no major issues.

  6. 1. Pics with Anna and the ducks...PRICELESS!

    2. I like the Dave duck, sounds like it has been well trained.

    3. If I try real hard while staring at that last pic I can pretend I'm not sitting in my office right now looking at 5 computer screens. I can almost feel that morning chill and smell the goodness that is cooking. Great, now I'm starting to drool.

  7.

Were your ears ringing last night?  We mentioned you, wondering if you'll be able to attend next year.

Depends on the date next year, we will be at Ocean Lakes this time next year.. But we would LOVE to make one of the GG's to meet everybody.

My ears did ring a little later in the evening, I just thought it was due to the drinks :D

  8. That sounds like a good idea.  My tent is 10x14 and the e-z up is 12x14 so that may cover the tent but no room for us to sit.  But is is something to consider.

We did it that was out of necessity the first time and just never bothered to buy the "walls" since the tarps we already had worked just fine.

Sounds to me like you need another e-z up or two to sit under :D

  9. Besides, if you would wear the correct shade of orange that wouldn't happen.

Hmm, I'm only aware of one shade of orange???  :D

I have great hope the Miami game will be a wake up call to the players to get their stuff together and stop making stupid mistakes.  Luckily, the Gators have this week off to get ready for Tennessee's visit.

Sorry about the urine bomb.  When was that?  I hope it wasn't any time recently.

I would normally agree with your theory that the team with the most rushing yards wins, but Florida outrushed Miami 122 to 50 yards, and dominated with 413 yards of total offense to Miami's 212.  They lost the game with turnovers- which they had very few of last year.

We will learn a lot about Tennessee on Saturday.  I am pulling for an huge upset of the Ducks.

I don't know how they don't pass out.

Plus it looks horrible.  Exhibit A is the Miami coach on Saturday.

    TCD

It was back in the late 90's when several folks from UT were hit with "water ballons". Haven't been back since...that left a bad taste in my mouth.

As for the rushing yards, I was speaking specifically for the TN\FL game. If I remember correctly 2002 was the last time the team with less rushing yards won the game.

  10. You all are the best!

We have decided against bringing it. Steve says it is stressing him out. Besides the axle work, we also need to replace the tires. He said he noticed that there appears to be some dry rotting. Never mind that I told him months ago that we needed new tires. Did he listen to me? Of course not.

OK need to let it go.

A couple whacks with a rubber mallet on the silver cap and it should come right off, might have to alternate sides where you are hitting it to help "pry" it back and forth. Once it is off there is likely a grease zirk under there and you could top off the grease that way but make sure not to use an air grease gun. It can have too much pressure and blow grease out the back bearing seal and into the brakes themselves. If that were to happen you would notice a substantial loss of braking power. To pull the bearing to pack by hand you will still need to pop off the silver dust cap, then remove the retaining washer or castle but, and pull the hub off to get to the bearings. Then hand pack like any other bearing. Sounds bad, but it's really not. I did all 4 of mine and adjusted the brakes a few weekends ago in about 3 hours.

Don't skimp on the tires. I'll leave it at that.

I know you aren't taking it at this point, but wanted to throw that out there. Maybe since you wont be in a hurry to get it done he could take his time and do it himself.

  11. I have a feeling about this game.

I think this will be the game where Tennessee finally gets to say that they're back.

I don't think the Vols will be embarrassed.  I hope they save that for the following week.

    TCD

Well, I sure hope you are correct.

I was worried about the FL game, but to be honest after the last couple games they have shown some issues I didn't expect. I really hope they keep up the turnovers, the vols were +7 in turnovers this past weekend, 5 in consecutive plays, and that appears to be something we might excel at this season. I still dread us having to go to the swamp as it is just an obnoxious place (sorry, i've had urine thrown on me there) and I just can't stand it. As usual I'm assuming the team with the most rushing yards will win but I guess we will have to wait a couple weeks to know for sure :)

  12. I'm a happy, happy girl tonight. Tailgate report coming soon.

Georgia looked pretty dang good this weekend, it looked like they had some of the miscues and confusion cleared up on the defensive side of the ball.

    Tennessee at Oregon

The Tennessee-Oregon game will be my flashback game of choice during Bama-A&M commercial breaks.

I'm dreading this game, I think it is going to get ugly fast. We will see for the first time this season how the team reacts to some "less than ideal" situations. Last year they would have rolled over, turned the ball over some, and generally helped the opposing team. I'm hopeful that the leaders they have in place now will be able to make changes on the fly and prevent this from being a total embarrassment for the Vols.

And right beside “Fat Man” was this little guy

It’s almost unfeasible to me that so much destruction can come from something so small.

I spent several years doing IT work for the Dept of Energy in Oak Ridge and worked about 50 yards from the building where they worked with the U235 to create the "boom" for this fella. It was really neat working out there, sadly it is demolition project now and all of the buildings\history is going away. There was talk for a little while about building a museum of some sort to remember all of this and the workers\families that worked out there but I believe they decided against doing that. I think they were afraid of offending someone so they scrapped that idea and now it will be an industrial park\office park.
