  1. I’m not sure what the reservation system does   I am AP holder so I never have problem getting a reservation.

But I was at Disneyword over Christmas and again end of Feb   Both times the parks were packed   I thought the reservation system was to be used for crowd control

serms to me just as crowded as pre covid

    but what do I know

  2. For me it’s just too hard to fight for reservations.  A certain TA grabs all the good reservations. I remember when you could always get Christmas reservations. You had to be creative but you would always get them.

I understand 250 a night during Christmas but the are changing 200 a night Labor Day.  That’s nuts  I was there Easter week and paid 250 per night.

i still have premium AP. No black out dates. Haven’t had any problem getting reservations but the lines are long and the parks are packed.  Not sure if I will renew next year.  There are no perks for pass holders anylonger.  I can remember staying at the fort and MK had extra magic hours. 11pm - 3:30 am.  Those were the good old days.

    just my 2 cents.

most of you don’t me but I was one of the original ones that came here from disboards

The pandemic hasn't helped much either. The two state campgrounds we could always go to on the spur of the moment even last spring are now booked solid months ahead. The rangers say it is mostly families with their kids who are on remote learning. My RV dealer also said they've seen an uptick in sales since the pandemic as families use camping as a way to get away from the house without having to be close to a lot of people.

It’s not because of covid at the Fort.  I can see the state cg’s filling up as they are reality inexpensive.  At the Fort the site are more than 100.00 year round.

also yesterday I booked Memorial Day. 4th of July and Labor Day

its only Christmas and if you don’t o through a travel agent you are out of luck

I do object to the wording of giving all the sites to travel agents. Speaking on a personal level I work friggin hard to get my clients the sites they ask for on the first day of availability and throughout the year. Not a single thing has been "given" to me.

The problem is the popularity of the Fort combined with, in some cases, the min/max booking system.

Don’t mean to offend anyone.  It’s just that certain travel agents gobble up all the sites. I’ve been told they get availability before the window opens to normal folks.  I just like the way it was done in the past.

And it didn’t start this year either

  5. Am I the only one who misses the old way we made reservations at the fort?  I can remember getting reservations for Christmas most anytime during the year. Yes you had to be creative but you could get a site.

Now they give all the sites to travel agents and they are gone in one day. I just liked the old way where I controlled my reservations.

sorry to ramble just my 2 cents

  6. I made reservations for this Christmas online last year. I had to do 12/3-01/01 to get a site. When I modified this year (over the phone) I told cast member I wanted through New Years. (Check out New Years Day). He said no problem all set.  A few months later I looked at my reservation and it had me checking out on the 31st. I called and they said sorry nothing we can do.

I have added a day when I was at the fort before during Christmas but it wasn’t New Year’s Eve.

Anyone ever have any luck adding New Year’s Eve after you check in?

i had to stay in cabin last year as I couldn’t get site.  While I always say a few empty sites. Especially on the 2100 loop. (The new one). There were empty sites on that loop all the way through New Years day

i already have reservations for premium site next year that includes New Year’s Eve

  7. I just said the heck with it.  I booked a cabin 12/27-1/2.  When I called to shorten the time to 4 days I was told it was not available. The lady on the phone said wow that doesn't sound right. She then put me on hold and called the fort and got it done. When she came back on the phone to tell me it was taken care of. She said she didn't understand how they do reservations at the fort. Doesn't make any sense to her and she works there.  Now I just have to take out a second mortgage to pay for the cabin for a few nights. Lol

  8. I haven't been to the fort during Christmas since 2010.  I finally decided to go back this year. I tried to get reservations in Jan but found out they now let you reserve 18mths in advance. I did get get 18 so I guess I won't go this year after all.  Back in the old days I could always get Christmas even during the year but this year seems there is nothing available.  I'm sure there are sites but Disney just doesn't open them all at once..   Anyway just wanted to say hi to everyone. Don't recognize many of the names anymore.
