Unfortunately, that weekend does not work for us. My niece is getting married in Delaware that weekend and we will be at the wedding.
-
Let me check with She Who Must Be Obeyed - I know she and Rachael have some Girl Scout stuff coming up in the Fall. So, for now, the Smith family is a qualified "maybe"

Saturday was a bit warmer, but as night fell and we had our potluck dinner, the temps continued to drop back into the 30's.
Bill sporting a new hairstyle:That fire was blazing so hot, the bottom fire ring started to glow red.
-
So we arrived on Friday around noon and got set up:
Later that evening, with the fire blazing we all gathered around near Bill's camper to talk, drink, laugh, drink, tell lies, freeze, drink...are you sensing a theme here?

We got home around 11:30 a.m. Had a great weekend with everyone. I will post pictures soon.

My wife made this for the Saturday night potluck last evening for the Gettysburg Grand Gathering, and folks were raving about it so I promised to post the recipe:
2 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed
2 lb ground beef, browned and drained
1 15-oz can corn, undrained
2 15-oz cans black beans, undrained
1 14-oz can DelMonte Chili-style tomatoes
1 can Ro*tel tomatoes
1 pkg dry taco seasoning
Combine all ingredients in a a crock pot. Cover and cook on high 3 hours.
Serve with chips or tortillas.

when is everyone arriving and leaving? Tomorrow we will find out if Brian gets off on Friday, If he does, we should get there around lunch time Friday (hopefully earlier) and we are leaving sometime Sunday, still not sure what time, probably on the later side.
We arrive on Friday and will be heading back out on Sunday.
-
Yeah, that's another thing I need to figure out, groceries and alcohol.
Eat the groceries.
Drink the alcohol.
What's the problem? :rofl3:

Really looking forward to this. Most likely this will be our first outing of the year. I just put $3300 worth of new tires all around the motorhome so we can get there.

Well, Fiends, we made it home about an hour ago. It was great seeing everyone. Here's a question though...do we want to wait another full year before we do this again? Cindy and I had a blast!!!
Anyway - Happy Easter to you all and have a save trip home!!!!

I think Rennie (Dblr) said it would just be him and Beth, and the Smith clan will be represented by me and Cindy. So add 4 more adults.

Hey Jerry, the show is March9,10 & 11 and it is 2 builings at the fair grounds and usually some extra units outside. there is also a fair amount of campgrounds there also so it is a decent show. You can check it out on the web site http://www.yorkrvshow.net/
Yeah, I've been to that one before, I just could never remember when it was. I suffer from CRSS - Can't Remember Stuff S....um, what was that last word again...right on the tip of my tongue...

There's an RV show in York in March? That's an easy drive from Mechanicsburg!!!

While a Disney Cruise looks wonderful, if you shop around you will find other cruise lines are MUCH less expensive. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean three times, and we are going on a week long cruise this summer on RCL again. RCL has clubs for the kids and keep the kids VERY busy on board, letting the adults relax their own way. The food is wonderful, and you can eat ALL THE TIME. Be real careful with that. On RCL, iced tea/lemonade/fruit punch are free. Mixed drinks and sodas cost, and they will offer you a refillable mug when you arrive, so there is another expense to keep in mind.. We get them for the kids.
When we were pricing the transportation to/from Florida for the four of us, once we added up the air and bag fares to/from Orlando and transport from Orlando to Port Canaveral and back, it was really expensive. We could drive down, but mom, dad, 20 year old son and 14 year old daughter in a small SUV with all our luggage was too cramped. We thought about taking the motorhome, but again, it would be expensive and I am the only one who drives when we use the motorhome.
Our solution: The Autotrain. The four of us in coach along with all our luggae in the car is just under $1000.

Reservation confirmed. We are on Site B4. :jumpforjoy
Easter in Lancaster
in Grand Gatherings
Posted
Cindy posted on Facebook and I will add it here - because of all the travel I have been doing for work, and getting stuck on a never-ending project out of state, the time to get the motorhome ready for Easter weekend just isn't there for me. So, we will not be attending. That being said, if you are in the mood for some Pork Butt and Atomic Buffalo turds, on Saturday, we are having a barbecue at our house in Hampden Township, starting at 4 pm. Feel free to drop by. The address is 5271 Meadowbrook Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Link to the location on Bing Maps below:
