This is why I love you guys!

On the plus (?) side, I can reach them with my backhand...

CG suggestions, tips and hints?
I haven't done much research yet, but it looks like the "go to" is the Gettysburg campground, with sites by the creek as ideal.
What say you, fiends?

We're loving the truck, hating the fuel costs!
We're on our way to pick up the camper today. First official road trip in the truck (3 1/2 hr drive) which is pretty different from a road trip in my Odyssey... my kids are too close to me LOL!

ps~ I miss my fiends.

WE GOT THE TRUCK AND FOUND OUR CAMPER :jumpforjoy
A friend & colleague sold us their 5er for $6000! Immaculately maintained, and new to us- '05 Layton bunkhouse.
We pick it up Sunday!!
Wow.....

Wow... this looks so different not on tapatalk.
Anyway- just checkin in before the crazy hits at work. :)

I LOVE Amazon!
Side Subject (maybe separate thread worthy..)... do you follow any other camping related message boards?
-
SSIA!
Where do you buy your "stuff"?
-
I want you to know that guard probably cost between $1,000-$1,500.
This is great to know!!

Good to know. I think the husband thinks it looks badass anyway..
-
Yeah..I'd rather have running boards..
-
-
Do I need those?
-
What the hell is that thing on the front for? Breaking through iceburgs? I wonder if I can trade it for running boards.. hahah

I think we found our truck!
Actually, it kind of found us. Just stopping into a local dealer, looking to make a connection in case anything came in that suited our needs, originally we weren't really looking at diesels... But the guy said "would you consider a diesel? We got this truck TODAY as a trade, hasn't even been detailed yet.."
Super clean, '09, 250 crew cab 100K miles, for less than $25K AND a two year warranty...
There's no way it was a work truck, like I said we saw it before it was cleaned, and it was near spotless. No smell, no rust... Works for me!
Papers to be signed on Monday if it checks out ok. The only thing "bad" I can see happening is the dealer revoking the 2yr warranty and that makes me nervous, but...
Now to see if the camper I want is still available...

I'm so in love with you guys right now. LOL

Instead of starting a new thread...I have some questions to add here..
First off, when considering a 5er vs a TT, should I be looking at different specs for the tow vehicle?
Also, I was checking out trailer life's tow guides and they list the "towing capacity". Can someone once and for all explain the difference between that and the GVwR?
We are knee deep in truck hunting and the number we've been paying the most attention to is the GVWR. If that's the most important number, why doesn't the tow guide include it?
(Sorry for the structure of this post, tapatalk is not my friend!)

I just traded a 2011 F350 crew cab dually with 22k miles on it at a friend's dealership in central PA. It's in great shape. If anybody is in the market for a used dually let me know and I'll get you in touch with him.
Thanks for the heads up! I think that's a bit TOO much truck for us. But you offing it up is just one of the reasons why I love fiends so much!
-
I didn't even know that existed! Thank you!!

I'm west of Philly. Really the only people here that drive the 3/4 tons are horse people and contractors they typically drive them into the ground and/or beat the hell out of them. It's really rare to find a decent used one. NEW is a different story. But obviously they're twice the price.
-
I mean I guess I could start looking for a lighter bunk house... but I like THAT one.
-
A used 3/4 ton, 4 doors (gotta fit my boys!) that will tow the Jayco I want (gvwr 9,600lb- ish, see post 135) @ around $30k or less. There's half tons up the wazoo... but no 3/4.
