Till Tuesday

Well, we made it. Orlando traffic at rush hour sucks even without pulling a 39' 5th wheel. Anywho, when we showed up, they assigned us site 111. Well, we weren't going to fit on that. They upgraded us to a premium site on the 1000 loop. No charge. When we got to the site, CM Dave Rogers showed up and helped back us in. He was great. Disney magic is alive and well at The Fort.

Great pics. Can't wait to see the next month. Not too much longer.

We traded in our TT for a 5er earlier this year. We have only taken it out once for the shakedown trip to get used to setting everything up and finding some minor punch list things to be repaired by the dealer. Our first extended trip will be next month at the Fort.
-
We will be there the Dec. 5th thru the 10th and plan to take the bus to DD when we go. My F-350 dually is like parking a battleship in a bathtub.

Does that oxidizing hole guy on the place that shall not be named number all of his conversations when talking face to face? Really annoying.

I'm actually kind of surprised you were able to make a last minute reservation to Fort Wilderness for Halloween. Have a great time.

You should be fine without a golf cart. They are nice to have, but not necessary to get around. Typically, golf carts carry four adults fine. If you need to carry three children and a double stroller, safety might be an issue. Disney transportation can get you wherever you need to go. If your children are old enough, I'd bring bicycles.

We own a 2011 F350 Crew cab dually. Best truck I've ever owned. We pull a Keystone Montana 5er that is 38' long like it's not even back there.

We bought our Sunnybrook from Peco Campers. Nothing but good things to say about them.I would give Nick Adams at Peco Campers (just east of ATL) a call. They are a family run honest camper dealer. They usually have lots of inventory and will be happy to sit down and discuss your needs and tow vehicle with no pressure.

I guess I will find out when we show up in Dec. not gonna worry about it.

I know it really isn't that big of a deal and a lot of people don't really use it, but has anybody had problems being able to check in on-line? We are eligible but, I keep getting an error msg after the last step. If I can't do it, no biggie. Any suggestions, comments or amusing anecdotes?

I have found for the most part, people who like to camp, in general, are nice. Whether they camp in a tent, pop up, travel trailer, 5th wheel or motor home. Being on Fort Fiends site and loving Disney just give us all that much more in common. The alcohol doesn't hurt, either. Lol
-
On the flip side, if/when they do go forward with something like this, there's a huge marketing opportunity - something else that Disney rarely misses.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Disney explored the idea of building a strictly "pet friendly" resort and keep the other existing resorts pet free. They could theme it based on all of the Disney pets from the past.

We always carry extra hoses with us as well. I also carry an extension for our shore power just in case.

We don't have an ocean site and I was hoping that maybe with the cooler weather the mosquitoes might not be a big issue, But we do intend on bringing bug spray, maybe a gallon or two? lol
Anti-aircraft weaponry works well, too.

Unless you are right on the beach at Hunting Island, take tons of bug spray. I absolutely love that campground, but the mosquitos are fierce. Last time we camped there, we vowed never again unless we can get a beachside site. The ocean breeze keeps the bugs away from those campsites, but even the campsites right across form those are suffer a great deal.
Actually, the mosquito is the State bird here in the SC Lowcountry.

You must be both a smartass and a beerdrinker, so you're okay.
Actually my scientific name is Snarkasaurus Beerapotomus Rex, but thank you just the same.
-
I don't get it.I have a very low tolerance for smartasses and beer drinkers.

Hunting Island and Edisto Beach State Parks are really nice. We just got back from Edisto a week ago.Hi there! We're a hour over the NC/SC border, love me some SC beaches! I'm thinking of doing a trip down that way here soon, it's been way to long!

I think I'm going to try and request sites 103, 105, 108, 113, 123 or 126...not necessarily in that order. I know there is no guarantee that I get any of these sites. Any thoughts about these? That is if I can't get a premium site by then.
Halloween Reservations
in General Camping Discussion and Questions

We just booked a 6 day trip for Oct. 2015 during Halloween. For a room only reservation, you only need to put down $ for one night. This will be our first time being there on Halloween itself. Really looking forward to it.
