  1. Well this is a sad topic, but we are checking out tomorrow and I was wondering if there was anything special I needed to do at checkout, or is it just pack up and leave? Thanks again for all the help!
  2. We have been very happy with 900. It has very nice sites that give you plenty of room. It is also kind of in the middle of everything and we have loved being able to ride our bikes down to the water and catch the boat to MK with no problems.
  3. We are at the Fort right now and when we came in we requested the 500 loop and were moved to the 900 due to it closing next week.
  4. Well we are half way through our time here and wanted to do a very quick update, but not a full on trip report by any means! I thought some of you had hyped the Fort too much, but wow is this place great! We have had time to ride around, hit the pool and do what we have wanted in the parks. I would say this is going well, hope the rest goes like the first half. Thanks again.
  5. As we are now 4 days and counting to the Fort, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has been such a great help on this forum. This is a wonderful resource for us Fort rookies and has made planning my families trip so much easier, so thanks again Fiends!
  6. We are usually in loop B, but I believe the dump station is on the road that enters loop E from loop A
  7. I have not stayed in 60-80, but if you are on the website the pics of the sites are pretty good. Hope you have a great trip.
  8. I have gone to Fall Creek Falls at least once a year since I was born (38 years). IMO there is no better park in Tennessee. My 5th wheel is 30 ft and we generally stay in campground B or A. They both have full hook ups while E does not. E is the most secluded if water and electric only are ok. You will not run out of things to do. My family likes to hike from the nature center over the top of the falls and then down to the bottom. Great views and cold water to swim in at the base of the falls. There are great ranger programs and nightly softball games that are a blast. I would try to
  9. Hello Fiends, The family is counting down the days at this point (24) and getting very excited. We even have our fast passes for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! After much studying of the map and previous threads we are thinking the 500 loop is best for us. Any advice for specific sites to request in a couple of weeks? Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks for the options, from what you all have said and what I have found looks like we will give Eagles Roost a go. I am sure I will be back with more questions in the next few weeks.
  11. Thanks for the welcome! Checked out Eagles Roost and it looked fine for what we want. Will check the Tifton location too. Thanks for the advice
  12. Hello all, another rookie question here. First thanks to all who responded to my loop question. I am hoping to get some more great suggestions for this question. We are traveling from Knoxville to the fort and are planning to stop over near The GA/FL state line. I would welcome any suggestions ya'll might have for campgrounds. Thanks!
  13. We do have a day in the middle of the trip with no park plans, but the DDs are wanting to go to Blizzard Beach, so the day to recharge might be out he window! Thanks again for all the advice.
  14. First thanks for all the advice! TCD, my guess is we will be going full speed in the parks and will only be at the Fort in the evening, so I don't know if being close to the pool is super important or not. They ride bikes and will enjoy getting to ride to places around the Fort. So I guess the moral of this story is just relax and request a few different sites. Can I ask for some specific sites from the experts. We are arriving the Wed after Memorial Day and staying for a week. I am a little nervous having never pulled more than 4 hours away from home, but hey it should be great! Ken, A
  15. If only you could share the secret of how to win at football again! Thank you for the replies, it seems that we need to look for certain sites for peace and quiet. Does anybody have any specific premium sites you could recommend for when we fax in a request ahead of time? Thanks again for all the advice.
  16. Hello all, long time lurker, new poster. My family is taking our first camping trip to the fort at the end of May, so I am looking at sites. We are in a 5th Wheel w/slide, 30 ft, and would like a quiet loop. We are staying in a premium loop and don't mind riding bikes around. From looking online (and fiend app!) it looks like the 800 or 900 loop would fit our needs. Am I thinking correctly? Thanks for all your advice!
