We have Verizon FIOS here in Tampa which was just purchased by Frontier.

 

FIOS is advertising that they are the first company where you can pick and choose packages to get just what you want at a cheaper price.

 

NOTE, I said packages not channels, but it's a start

 

So my current TV bill not counting phone, internet, taxes, fees, equipment costs, etc is $75 for 364 channels, of which we probably watch about 20.

 

The pick and choose is $55 which covers the basics and 2 packages.  Each additional package is $10.  To get the packages we want for the shows we currently watch, we need 4 packages which will end up costing us $75, and we are still missing 2 or 3 channels that are only available on the tier we currently have or the next one up.

 

So, we can either cut down on our TV watching, or try to find them on line and on HULU.

 

I could do it, but my wife would be lost trying to track down the shows she wants.
