Anyway with that being said, if you are still interested in TRA, check the Raleigh Craigslist. I see ads for TRA all the time. In fact, for grins, I just put Travel Resorts in the search field in the Raleigh Craigslist and came back with this..... http://raleigh.craig...2719063507.html

Remember with any of the memberships look at where you want to travel and where they have member parks or affiliates. Use is the only thing that makes the memberships valuable.. If you don't use it they aren't worth buying.

Pam, if you look into the Thousand Trails membership check out the cost on the yearly dues, the upfront cost they are asking is not bad and also ask about your dues getting frozen, I know at age 65 they are frozen but my mother in law got her dues frozen because she was disabled that might help your decision. Also with the Thousand Trails system i think there are about 7-9 parks within 3 hours of you.

We use the inlaws thousand trails membership. I've only been to two here which are ok. Basically it comes down to how often you plan to camp vs is it worth being locked into a membership. Personally I wouldn't do it but just because I hate the idea of being stuck with them till I sell it or die. There is no getting out otherwise.
