Gusto Wine Bar in Epcot’s Italy!Jan 11th, 2012 by AJ.We have some exciting updates on the renovations taking place in Epcot’s Italy right now! A brand new wine bar is coming to town, and we have some details on what Tutto Italia will be like when it comes out of renovations! Gusto Wine BarGusto Wine Bar will be unveiled later this year (scheduled in April 2012). This will be a brand new entity created next to the restaurant. The look and feel will be reminiscent of an ancient Italian wine cellar, complete with stone walls and floors and exposed brick arches throughout. The space will feel as though it’s underground, with a dark atmosphere, wooden furniture, and wine barrels supporting the bar counter!The best part? There will also be a “dining area” with vaulted ceilings, glass wine container, and a large fireplace! (Our guess is that only appetizers and “tapas” will be served here — much like in La Cava del Tequila in Epcot’s Mexico…but that’s just a guess!) Tutto Italia Refurbishment UpdatesAs you know, Italy’s Tutto Italia is currently closed for refurbishments. When the restaurant is unveiled again in April, Tutto Italia will retain the original murals, coffered ceiling, and wooden/glass doors it currently has; however, guests will be treated to an entirely new facade for the buildings housing the restaurant!Dining RoomAdditionally, Tutto will sport all-new carpet, furniture, decor, and lighting. Guests will also see a difference in the restaurant’s entrance and outdoor patio!There’s lots to anticipate over the next few months! The restaurant closed on Sunday to begin an extensive refurbishment project. New Wine Cellar, Spiffed-Up Tutto Italia Open May 1 at Italy at Epcotposted on April 30th, 2012 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food WriterConstruction walls come down tomorrow, and guests already are making reservations for Tutto Italia Ristorante, one of the most popular restaurants at Epcot that’s been closed for refurbishment. Joining the beautiful restaurant is Tutto Gusto wine cellar, where small plates and more than 200 Italian wines, beers, grappas and coffee drinks are on the all-new menu. The makeover gives Tutto Italia a more expansive feel, with covered outdoor seating for 45 with ceiling fans and lighting, and pretty new carpet, dark-wood booths and spacious banquettes replacing some of the tables in the dining room. The lovely wall murals and elegant chandeliers remain.Just to the right of the restaurant is Tutto Gusto, accessible through Tutto Italia or through its own entrance. The décor is rustic, with wood-beam ceiling, brick arches and stone flooring, reminiscent of a traditional Italian wine cellar. A long bar is the centerpiece of the room, with wall sconces, a fireplace, and other classic touches.We got a sneak preview of the Tutto Gusto menu, and each small dish is simple and delicious, perfect for an afternoon or evening respite. It’s hard to choose, with charcuterie and cheeses, including three varieties of mozzarella; mini-paninis, cavatappi (corkscrew) pasta with three different presentations; and eight small plates with everything from seafood salad to polenta with mushrooms and fontina cheese, and steamed mussels in white wine.We’ll visit Tutto Italia’s new menu for an upcoming post – but we’re really excited about the gluten-free menu that shows it’s not just an afterthought, with entrées including rice pasta pomodoro, risotto, and a salmon filet with artichokes, potatoes and olives.Now there are three distinct dining experiences at the Italy Pavilion – Via Napoli (for the world’s best pizza), Tutto Italia and Tutto Gusto. Located in a reproduction of the Medici Palace in the Italy pavilion at Epcot, the new wine cellar is a space that was “discovered” as Tutto Italia was being built. This “unearthed treasure” features 200 Italian wines and a selection of authentic Italian small plates.“Tutto Gusto offers a refreshing place to relax and sample authentic tastes of Italy during a day at Epcot,” said restaurateur and CEO of Patina Restaurant Group, Nick Valenti. “It is a welcome addition to the popular dining options at the Italy pavilion.”“We are always looking at ways to keep Epcot fresh and vibrant for our Guests,” said Erin Youngs, vice president of Epcot. “The new Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar and refreshed Tutto Italia are excellent enhancements to World Showcase.
