Disney Fantasy interior tour: Stroll through the lavish atrium, browse the shops, and around the restaurants

Every cruise on the new Disney Fantasy ship begins by crossing the gangway and stepping into the ship’s stunning three-story atrium, decked in regal shades of gold and blue with fine details adorning every element inside. It’s an entrance one might expect from a grand hotel and is surprising to find such a beautiful area on a sea-worthy vessel.

Minnie Mouse is Disney’s icon for the Disney Fantasy, with a large statue acting as a centerpiece to the much larger atrium, flanked by a grand staircase leading to character-adorned balconies. High above it all is a striking chandeliers, complete with a few not-so-hidden Mickeys. Surrounding the atrium are elevators (two glass, featuring more Disney character artwork on the walls of upper floors), seating, a bar, and Guest Services. Further down the nearby hallways are the onboard stores full of Disney merchandise, two of the ship’s three rotational dining restaurants, and a pair of entrances to the extravagant Walt Disney Theatre.

All of the above is found on Deck 3 of the Disney Fantasy. The video below takes you on a walking tour of that deck, followed by photos that highlight some of the most decorative elements found throughout this entrance atrium and its surrounding halls. No captions are necessary to describe the beauty in these areas.

(Note: You hear “Pirates” music in this video because it was “Pirates in the Caribbean” night on the Disney Fantasy when I recorded this walkthrough tour. Music throughout the ship changes depending on the situation, such as island music playing when docked at Castaway Cay. While at sea, familiar Disney tunes fill the ship’s halls.)

The atrium and surrounding are nearly identical to those found on the Disney Dream, the Fantasy’s sister ship, equally as impressive. But whether guests are entering into this lavish space for the first time on a Disney Cruise Line voyage, as repeat visitors to either of Disney’s newest ships, or simply passing through on the way out after spending a few days on board, the atrium never ceases to amaze.
