Sometimes to get the dates you want, you have to expand your date range to include the dates you want and then book, then cancel the days you don't want. It's getting harder and harder to book just a long weekend.

We did a hit and run vow renewal service at the beach at the Fort. It was about 4pm. My son is ordained [via the internet lol]. He and my niece did the service for us and for my sister and her husband. Then we ate at the dinner buffet. 3 extra witnesses so it was pretty small.
So awesome!

I looked at a vow renewal (just brian, myself and the 2 kids) and doing the very basic it was still like $2,000-3,000. I could vacation there for that price!
And that just takes away from the meaning behind the vows. I love Disney, but I won't let it take away from what's important. A first wedding, and I could afford it, sure!

The "hit and run" wedding idea is genius.
I've seen a few around WDW, and it would be easy to do at the Fort.
I think if you rented a couple of sites and had the wedding there, and kept within the 10 guests per site limit, there would be no problem with having the ceremony and a quiet and respectful reception at the site.
If you do anything like that, be respectful of your neighbors and don't exceed the limits of how many vehicles you can have at each site, keep the noise to a minimum, and plan to wrap things up at a decent hour.
TCD
It would definitely be simple and quiet. Thanks for the info about guests per site. I had no idea it was 10, that's great news.

OR go to the other spot where people watch the fireworks behind the store. No one is normally ever there.

That's a great idea

Hello everyone, haven't posted on here in ages! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a small private wedding ceremony at the Fort? I mean small as in a few friends, kids, grandkids. Most of us our AP and a few of us are regular campers. I see conflicting reports of whether or not we can bring in our own pastor, Disney may frown on that??
We wouldn't be making a huge event out of it, small ceremony at the beach followed by dinner, even at Trails End if we thought we could book it.
Any ideas? Thoughts?

If we stay on the warmer months then I like to use the bikes only. We'll rent a cart in the colder months and especially for Christmas, mainly to looping. I do love it when we rent a cart but miss the exercise I get with the bike.
We are local so we rent from outside.

Yes absolutely! Lol

Why is it people turn stupid when they get on a golf cart???

As for horns...
I don't know if it's all of them, but at least some Disney carts have horns on them.
Loud horns.
They don't play catchy tunes, they're just loud and obnoxious.
Especially when people drive down the road "talking" to each other because they think it's funny.
It's not.

When you fill up your free storage on photobucket, hop over and try imgur.
Will do!

Pixie dust was definitely in the air this morning! I think next time he's only allowed to fly in an empty football field

Bill and Sam came to save day after my son flew his helicopter 100 feet into the tree! Mitchell gave them a handwritten thank you note, but there is not enough thanks!
According to them, they have also retrieved balloons, a parrot, and other helicopters

Haha it worked!

You have to use a site like photobucket and post the IMG code here to share. There are specific directions around here somewhere.
Thank you!!

OK for the date of sounding computer illiterate. ..which photo sharing site should I use?
-
I was trying to upload to this site but it said my pictures were too big.

What do you use to resize your photos to post here? I want to post some photos taken this morning but they are too large.

Thank you so much!!

Hello Fort Fiends! I haven't been on here in a while and I'm sure I've missed out on some awesome chatter. I hope to not be so absent again.
We'll be there for our 4th Christmas 21st through the 29th. I've read several times before about faxing our loop request. We're partial to the outside 900 loop. I can't seem to find the fax number here. Im sure it's right under my nose.

Residential rates/wedding

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about getting married at the Fort. We decided to do it either at our site or we have a location in mind where we won't be bothered [emoji1].
Another question: We have some people coming from out of state who wants to stay at the cabins that weekend but if course it's so expensive! Have you ever booked for someone else using your Florida Resident or Annual Pass discount? ( I know we'd have to check them in) just not sure if the entire party would have to show proof of residency for a stay (not park tickets). Help! Would really love for everyone to stay at the Fort with us [emoji173]
