  1. Grumpy, that sounds encouraging. I'm packing food to bake in the oven...hope I figure it out.
  2. Does anyone cook with a convection microwave? We have one in our Class A that I haven't used yet.
  3. We also live in California and bought the Premier Passport for our upcoming visit to FW and WDW. We visit Disneyland often. We didn't get any discount on our campsite reservation at FW.....dang! But we plan to make the most of our visit since we are staying three weeks at FW....can't wait.
  4. Great tips everyone. This site is fantastic for people planning their trip...especially for those of us who aren't lucky enough to live close to WDW and FW.
  5. In just a few weeks we will be at FW for the first time. We will be driving our Class A with a toad. In the past when we have visited WDW we relied on the bus to get around from the resorts to the parks and Downtown Disney. We are season pass holders so if it is like Disneyland, parking won't be an additional cost. I would appreciate hearing from folks how they prefer to travel around WDW.
  6. We have been to WDW and my DH swears that your Tower of Terror is better. We will be at Epcot during the Flower and Garden show...which was our intent. The nice thing about Disneyland and California Adventure.....no buses to get from one to the other. Can't wait to camp at FW.
  7. Ken as far as dogs on cruise ships, I've only seen service and security dogs. They had an artificial grass pad on one of the small decks. Of course on the Disney Cruise ships you will run into Goofy, Pluto and friends.
  8. Keith gave an excellent overview of Monterey. I would definitely check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium and if you want a short drive go to Carmel by the Sea ....only a few miles over the hill. Carmel is the home of Clint Eastwood....very artsy district, cute million dollar cobblestone homes. I once went to the Aquarium for a conference dinner....they served seafood which I ate and my husband said the fish were looking at me saying "why???" Cannery Row is fun...tourist shopping area.
  9. Welcome from another Californian (Northern)! We are planning our first visit to FW in April (only 55 days to go) but our trip will start about three weeks earlier because we are doing the "tourist" thing along the way. Great questions....I have found this site to be extremely helpful in our trip planning. I also recommend skipping the dining plan...we tried it once. We like eating breakfast in the MH and then dining out for lunch. If we eat dinner it is very light. Plus there aren't many vegetarian options. Enjoy!
  10. Gwen, is Ocean Lakes near some must see spots? Or do you stay at the campsite and relax?
  11. Thank you all for the suggestions everyone. I was online for an hour making Fast Pass reservations....what a work out. Took me a few tries to figure out how to work the system. While dear husband slept I booked us for some must try rides.
  12. This is our first big trip in the RV. While we have been to WDW years (via flight from SFO) ago the only other destination on the East Coast that we have been to is New York and north. We have toured the West Coast and are Disneyland regulars.
  13. I would love to hear for experienced Fort Fiends about dining recommendations and FAST PASS recommendations. Tomorrow I can make our Fast Pass reservations...so excited. I have booked some dining reservations already...and will try to get into Be Our Guest for lunch during our stay. We will be staying at FW for three weeks...then headed up to Hershey, PA.....and eventually back to sweet California...via Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Seattle and down the Oregon/California coast to home. Thank you for a wonderful site...full of very useful info!!
