You know, it's really inspiring to know that there are still people out there willing to serve and fight for the freedoms that are so easily taken for granted these days. In this day and time when there are so many trying to water things down, it is so awesome that there are still those that will do all that they can to keep this great nation on the right track.

I too can vouch for this campground.... Its a perfect overnight stop. I have used this campground twice over the last couple of years and it has worked out great.

We have always called ahead and made a reservation to make sure we got a spot. We have always arrived after the office has closed and our "packet" and site assignment has always been attached to a board outside the office when we got there...

It's a spotless property, easy on and off I-95. Easy fuel stops and places to eat. Highly recommend it.

Okay guys, Just so I understand it correctly.... For me going TO the Fort from NC, I am basically taking 295 in a clockwise (inner loop, etc, or whatever the designation is) direction around JAX, instead of 295 clockwise (outerloop), like I used to take.... In other words, its the same loop, same highway number around JAX, just around the other side....

Heck, I might just stop in JAX and commute to the Fort each day.... :rofl2:

As you may have read in the upcoming trips section, me and my daughter are traveling down this Saturday to the Fort from NC. She and her dance school are performing in the 3:00 parade at MK on Friday, the 24th.

It seems that I read somewhere, and can't remember where, that there is a new easterly route around Jacksonville. In the past, depending on the construction around JAX, we have gambled whether to go through on 95 or around on the bypass in the westerly direction.... Did I dream this, or is there a "new" way around JAX. If so, what is the exit number that I need to take.

Well it looks like C2C has finally gotten their act together... When we were members and you went to another campground other than your home park, they put you in the worst sites that the campground offered.... That was one reason we got out of the program.

Man TCD, I have been checking back every few hours looking for my Trip Report fix.... I was beginning to think that you were holding out for a bigger royalty check....

Man! An 18 pages + trip report for a couple of days at the Fort.... Heck TCD, if you go for a week, Chris and Jen are gonna have to call up Al Gore and order up some more internet space..... I think we may be close to end of the internet now :smug:

TCD, I have followed along all this way, reading this great report when I should be "workin' for da man, as well as skipping out on all of the honey do's that my wife expects of me... But as I read along I feel as if there is something missing in the report...

We need to get a Rocky report.... Where is the official dog of the TCD clan?

Okay, back on topic....  Carolina Packers "Red" Wienies, boiled, then placed in a steamed bun with chopped onions, homemade chili, slaw and mustard.

This is a nice campground... Also its a relatively new campground (that is in Myrtle Beach terms).

It looks like they really "spiffied" that place up... We stayed there 7 or 8 years ago, and I don't remember those campsites being that nice....

Makes me sorta wish now that we didn't get rid of our C2C membership....

I know what you mean about wanting to camp rather than staying at the POP.  Not saying that the POP is bad... well as a camper, you know what I mean....  Have you thought about renting a pop-up or 5th wheel from some of the companies listed in the Golf Cart and Camper Rental section of the forum.  I have never personally done it, but have heard from some others that have, and they had a great experience.

From what I understand, these "companies" or individuals bring the unit in, set it up and come back and remove it after your trip is over. Might be worth looking into...
