  1. The municipal bus systems in Tallahassee and Gainesville (and probably a lot of other cities in America) have apps which customers can download and which show them, in real time, where their bus is in relation to the bus stop.  Disney could co this if they wanted to, but they probably don't want guests in the low rent resorts to see all of the buses being diverted to the deluxe resorts.

These video monitors should have been in use a long time ago.  It's good they've at least taken this step.

The slowest bus service i have ever had was at the wilderness lodge, the best service was a toss up between POR and CS..

  2. We have one in Huntersville.  I occasionally shop there when I'm nearby, but it's not close enough to be my go-to.  Haven't seen anything to make me think it's the greatest grocery store ever yet, though.  They are building a closer one but haven't even started yet.  My HT (2 mi. away) has fallen quality-wise since being bought by Kroger, so I will probably switch to Publix when it opens.

The best thing IMO is that you can order deli meat on a touch screen and then shop and pick it up.  The HT deli near me is about the slowest thing in the history of the world.

Its not the store that makes it great, its the employees.

My MIL was visiting from NH, it was pouring rain when she was leaving publix, the store employee said leave your cart here, walked her to her car with an umbrella, directed her to drive to a loading area and loaded her car in the rain,  oh and BTW they have a no tipping policy I have tried and tried when they do stuff like that and they will never extend their hands

if you think the touchscreen ordering is nice at the deli, try the online ordering, I click what i want, and as i stroll past the deli area its sitting in a bin with my name on it, along with my sub's

I found this interesting web page that explains the difference between an Apatosaurus and a Brontosaurus. At one time they were the same thing but I guess recent research says otherwise. Anyway here ya go. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-a-Brontosaurus-and-an-Apatosaurus

I swear I m not hijacking....  do you have the Landry's select card?

if you don't you should get it, you wont need ADR's for T-rex and Rainforrest cafe as it gives you priority seating

  4. I'm glad to see this trip report get back on track.

That Fort day you spent at the pool sounds really nice!

The birthday meal at T-Rex looks like it was a blast.  And, I learned something from the kid's menu.  I didn't know Apatosaurus means "deceptive lizard."  That's a good name.  Especially since back in my day we called them Brontosauruses.

  5. Great report so far, but you've got some nerve hijacking back a thread that was hijacked from you previously!

Keep up the good work, you'll get us heathens back in line sooner or later!

I said i didnt mean to hijack.... I still dont...

    Love the updates!

  6. Right, and Lazy Days is at Exit 10 on I-4.  The first WDW exit is at Exit 62.  That's only 52, miles.  I don't know where the 71 miles comes from.

eh I did google maps at the time and there was an accident on I4, so it was faster going the long way...

Door to door Lazydays to Ft wilderness is  60.2 miles

  7. As has been hinted at before, the key to blanket wifi coverage is not a powerful transmitter in a half dozen locations, but rather many dozen weak transmitters spread over the whole coverage area. We were at a major regional hospital recently and I was surprised to see these little $40 Netgear wifi repeaters plugged in everywhere. But that old, sprawling hospital had good wifi EVERYWHERE!

I think your onto something there

do you think multiple directional ones mounted on the comfort stations would do?

you know one on each side

I just played around with google maps and the longest shot from a C/S to a campsite i found was  about 600 ft as the crow flies

and If i counted correctly there are 14 C/S

    14 x4 directional routers= 56 routers

I know an outdoor directional router that its under $100 and has a 1.5 mile range, but we all know those numbers are junk so id be willing to say it has 1/4 of what they advertise so roughly 1/3 of a mile range. That would be 1500 feet add in a few trees and campers and we can reduce that number by half to 750 feet and still have coverage

adding wifi to the fort could cost them as little at $5600 in equipment and who knows how much brown paint guy is going to charge to install the routers... and how fast for that matter

  8. Thanks for posting that.

The description says its for an unmanned equipment shelter.  Specifically for AT&T. That sounds like it's just to service the existing cell towers which were installed last year.  I don't think that has anything to do with providing WIFI service in the camping loops.

    TCD

but with At&t being the offical provider, it could be part of the deployment of wifi

the antenna may already be on the tower to generate a large enough wifi hotspot, and now its just the equipment getting there ... who knows

I did read alot about what they call mico cell deployment and how they have added 35+ sites to the disney property in addition to the new cell towers to improve cell phone coverage on att only

when you read about a micro cell, its just a router and radio that's hard-lined into a network, could easily be configured for wifi only and provide the coverage

  9. Only 42 days to go.  And we have to squeeze in a trip to Dollywood for Thanksgiving week in 24 days.  So much pressure to get ready for so much fun.

I'll be right behind you, 45 days out for us

  10. Unfortunately most rv dealers don't seem to care as long as they make the sale. Car lots seem to be the same they will look at the spec sheets for a vehicle but not how a certain vehicle is equipped.

Lazydays went out with me and looked at the decal on the door jamb, and the decal on the trailer, no books to look up the info.

Not to hi-jack but lazydays has a robust process for sales/ delivery

they have gate attendants and the only way to get the exit pass is from the sales manager after all paperwork is reviewed, see previous posts not valise unless signed by sales manager

no pass, your not leaving till info is verified.

And their vehicle delivery area is nice, new unit is backed in, old unit is opposite( head in), and you can stay 2 nights to get your stuff squared away and settled in

Exactly!! Not sure what the Ford dealership and the rv sales guy were smoking that day. We actually have to get a totally different van.

We had a similar experience when we bought a, to me, huge trailer..  At that time we had a Dodge van and all we heard was 'of course your van can pull the trailer'.  Yeah right.  Those guys had liar, liar pants on fire syndrome. The van did manage to pull it home, on flat Florida roads with a curve or two.  But it let us know that was all it was capable of doing.  The next day we were at the Chevy dealer looking at Avalanches.  Still have that and it's pretty happy pulling our little hybrid.  Over kill for the hybrid though. ;)

when i purchased my pup from lazydays, they had me fill out a form and we had to look up the spec on my TV.

I questioned the whole thing and was advised its a liability issue, if they sell a trailer and the vehicle towing it off the lot is not rated to do so they can not release it from the lot.

It was a legit worksheet, with all the weights listed for the TV and the trailer, Ill try to find a copy of it

  12. Not impressed with that Taco, more important is price and performance.

Toyota lost me when they didn't update the motor, and pisses me off with the fake hood scoops... Make them functional or take them off!

The other issues is the brakes, they still use rear drums. I did price one out and while the msrp is $5k less than the f150 iAm looking at, (msrp vs msrp) they too will not come down on price as its a redesign year and popular. I can still get a better equipped f150 for less

  13. I was going to say way back when this started, a buddy of mine was looking at a new Colorado and the dealer couldn't give him any break on the pricing and he was friends with him, so he ended up just getting a fullsize black out edition. I think you'll be happier with a full size truck in the long run.

    Best Regards,

    Norm

Thats exactly what I am finding, they are not moving off of MSRP at all, they are stuck at $34,000 and not moving

where as I have a local Ford dealer, who has a 2015 F150 crew cab short bed, 2.7L Twin Turbo V6, with towing package, back up camera, pro trailer assist, whose MSRP is $39,000 but their sale price is $31,000
