I think I need to learn a little more about this! What does it come with and what is the cost? I can't find it listed on anywhere that has their menu posted.

This stinks! Our magic bands arrive tomorrow and we wanted to get a purple one... looks like we will need to book another trip!
-
We have 4 kids (1yr to 8yrs) and would likely go about 4 hours of driving if we could stay at least 2 nights.
But we have the motorhome (34' class c) out at a private lake and will drive an hour out there for just 1 night but make long weekends of it all summer long. All of my wife's family have tt or 5th wheel out there. We are lucky to have a place to keep it setup all summer so we can take the kids out there where all their cousins are. It's ready to go at anytime!

We are 30 days out and have a full hookup booked. Does anyone have any experience in the 1700 loop and specifically in the 1735 to 1738 range?
These sites look close to the comfort station and to the opening of the loop and looks like it would be an easy walk with 4 small kids to the bus stop.

May I also have a sticker?

Any one of them please!

We are going to the fort for the first time April 3rd so this is great news!

I would love a hat!

Being that this will be my first trip to the fort, I hope that it is what I expect and is more family friendly then some hotel.
Everyone on here has got my family very excited to see the fort!

I am fairly new to this site and have booked our first trip to the fort.
We live about 20 hours drive from the fort and are a family of 6. For us to stay on property the fort is a great value. We could not touch these prices to stay at another resort and having a mh gives us the best value for us.
We camp at a private lake here close to home all summer long so we were super excited about finding out about the fort. We just hope that it is as friendly as what this fourm is.
We booked our site ourselves and we have an adr and tickets we will get from a partnership program from my wife's work. I would be interested in finding out any advantages to having a ta to book things because in our area they don't really exist.
We will be arriving at the fort on April 3rd and are looking forward to a new experience!

I am confused by what you're saying here. I think there must be a typo. Telling them that everyone is an adult would not avoid the charge.
TCD
I did put it wrong and people could just lie and say everyone is under 18. I went in like I was booking it and didn't see the added fee but both my wife and saw it when we booked back, I think, in September and added my mom. Does disney ever give you an itemized list of all the charges? All the confirmation says is a total price and taxes.
-
tell them I sent you and there will be a spot for you lol, it's not a busy time so you'll be ok stop in to site 13 and say hey, we will be back by then, and for Gods sake don't break anything or I will have to fix it.
you don't trust my judgement?
I emailed them about stopping there on our way to and from. You'll have to give me more of your name so they know who sent me there.
I trust your judgment but they will be driving it very close to before I will so they could have any information about construction.
-
They charged $2 per adult over the first 2 adults. I think they could charge more but they go by what ages you put in and could tell them that everyone over the first 2 are adults and avoid it.

I would be interested in an update after your trip to find out what route you took and how it worked out.
-
The old rule was that there was an extra charge for more than two adults- no extra charge for up to 8 children. I thought that was fine, and things would be a lot better if they just enforced the old rule. It would stink for me, as my kids are all adults now, but I'd be willing to pay the extra charge if it was uniformly enforced, as I believe that one step would cut down on the site overcrowding that we see today.
TCD
It is not an old rule that you have to pay for any adult after the first 2. We leave for the fort in a couple months and had to pay extra each night on our reservation because we are taking my mom. I don't like the idea of limiting the number of guests because that would punish us (4 kids) because others abuse it. We won't be making noise at all hours or having any sorts of visitors making a lot of traffic on the loop.
In my opinion is that the fort is a family alternative to have a more traditional and wholesome family experience then just a hotel and eating at restaurants.

I think we are going to try out the 65 route and I have emailed the Texas T campground to see about reservations. I think my wife would really like to avoid Atlanta because of the traffic and the motorhome being fairly new for us.
-
are u going south on 65 thru Alabama (the good way) or south on 24 to 75 thru Atlanta (the traffic nightmare way)?
I had looked at going through Atlanta just because I was familiar with that route because my parents used to live there. Is south on 65 a good route?

We are heading to the fort early April and are looking for an area to camp on our way to down. Anyone know any places on the cheap? We will be on the road at least 8 hours by the time we get there so we don't need a lot of bells and whistles.
Thanks!

How far in advance can you request a specific site?
-
We already booked a site at a state park online. Very easy to do in Florida compared to Iowa.
-
We have a trip scheduled for April and we're tring to figure out our arrival. It is around 19 hours of driving (maybe more if we have to stop or adjust speed for the mh) and are planning on 2 days to drive.
Because the second day we would arrive later in the day we were thinking about just setting up a quick camp at a state park in the area then heading to the fort early in the morning. The plan would be to just pull into the overflow and hit the parks until we decide to take a break and set up. We have a 32ft class c and are not towing anything so setup can go real fast.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
-
This will also be our first trip in the moho. Just under 1300 miles each way.
-
I'm new to the site and picked up a 2013 Forest River Sunseeker that looks to be the same layout. I would be interest in hearing about your experience taking it to the fort. My wife and kids are going in April.

Heading out there you could take a route that goes up to Sioux Falls and on I 90 to Yellowstone. I 90 would give you chances to stop and see the badlands and the black hills. After Yellowstone heading to Denver I like stopping in Laramie to see the teritoral prison, it's a quick stop that would let you stretch for a few hours.
