  1. Thank you. Hopefully I can confirm the menu as it gets closer and determine if we are going to keep our brunch reservation or take a chance and try for a walk up dinner time
  2. Morning everyone! We decided to stay for thanksgiving this year instead of the week before Christmas. I apparently mis calculated and missed the opening of thanksgiving dining reservations for Trails End. I was able to get a brunch reservation in the early afternoon as a 2nd best. Does anyone know if they still take walk ups for dinner or is it reservation only? Also does the brunch typically include the thanksgiving type foods (turkey, stuffing, etc) or is it the usual fried chicken, mashed potatoes, etc?
  3. I did express check in & never received a text w/ my site number but when we pulled in at the checkin outpost it was ready to go, we were handed our packet & site number and were on our way.
  4. We may run into each other at the fort Tony. My family is checking in Dec 18th & staying thru Christmas. We are so excited to get back to FW, I cannot wait!!!
  5. Sadly someone on the event post said that she works as a cast member at FW and told people about the fact that when it gets full they will turn people without reservations away so they should just park at the TTC and take the boat or bus to FW so they can join the festivities....seriously!
  6. Hi there! I have a question and am trying to figure out where to address it so I thought I would try with the Fort Friends. I was invited to a facebook event along with 3,000 other people for a kids night out event at FW to go on a hayride and enjoy marshmallows and a movie under the stars. Having stayed at FW many times over the years and preparing for our next trip this December this event created by a private group concerns me. Does FW allow events such as this to take place or is this entirely unsolicited and on the evening this is planned will the campgrounds be innundated with outsid
  7. Is that the same burger the trails end sells on their ala cart at lunch time? Cause that is the most amazing burger I've ever eaten in my life!! My hubby & I drove down to FW (1hr drive from our house when there is no traffic) just to get a burger for lunch lol

    Easter vaca

Thank you for the input. We love just walking around the grounds & enjoying the tranquility. We have probably had about 10 clog vaca's in the last 5yrs @ FW and only been to the pool once so that's not a problem. Lol. Not that we don't like the pools at the campgrounds we just enjoy the wilderness part more. The pony rides are the most important part so I was glad we were able to get a reservation close to 5 to be on the safe side because I think my son might have a melt down if he could if ride "his" pony's ? We have never celebrated Easter away from home, let alone in the mag

    May 2017

We have annual passes & have found them to be very worth while. Don't forget to include the fact that AP includes parking which is now $22 if I remember correctly plus you get discounts not only on food at select restaurants (make sure the restaurants you want to visit are on the list as it does not include every restaurant) but also on merchandise if you plan to buy any souvenirs.
  10. Hello friends, I need some help and hope to find some answers here. My husband & I have birthdays 2 days apart and have planned a weekend vaca with the kids for our birthday. This year it falls on Easter weekend which of course means we did not book in time to get grounds at FW but found another campground nearby. We already have Easter dinner reservations for Trails End but wanted to see if anyone knows if they will allow us to get in early @ FW to take part in some of the festivities & of course my son wants to ride the ponys....again. We tried to stop by for lunch & ponys
  11. Hopefully if it does come back to life it will be in the form of the Wilderness junction I found some information on instead of the DVC villas. It was at least further down the street and offered more things for the FW campers in the form of shops and restaurants. I guess only time will tell but hopefully we will not see the DVC in our wilderness backyard anytime soon.
  12. Thank you, I have followed some of the posts on here for a while but when I saw talk about this kind of major change I had to reply. I have stayed at FW at least 6-7 times in the last 3 years and are gearing up for another trip this December. We absolutely love the campgrounds for the amenities, peace & quiet, and of course easy access to Magic Kingdom. I understand progress is the name of the game for Disney but there is so much other land that is available I hope they consider moving the complex further down to a more midway point between FW and WL. My son just turned 5 and we have st
  13. Please tell me this is not true or has been relocated at least a little further down the road. My son will be devastated if they get rid of the pony rides and horse stables, he asks to go every time we are at FW. :'(
