  1. We made a trip to DTD and we had an "Aiden First"!

This was his first face painting.....

    DSCN9703-1.jpg

    And the final result....

    DSCN9717-1.jpg

Later in the evening we had another "Aiden First"!

    His first Haunted Carriage Ride....

    DSCN9719-1.jpg

Headless horseman pictures were very difficult since it was so dark and I was busy trying to swat away the millions of mosquitoes that were making a valiant effort at carrying us away into the night (never mind the headless horseman!!)

    DSCN9729-1.jpg

    DSCN9730-1.jpg

Then it was down to the marina to watch fireworks and EWP!

More "Aiden Firsts" will be coming up....off to greet more Fiends (Doodle has arrived!!!).

  2. For those that couldn't be with us...here's a little sample of what's happening...

    A mini-Fiend gathering....(Ed, Rita, Momma, Joanne...so sorry your dinner got cold :)) )

Included are TNBob & Mrs TNBob (Cathy & Bob), 4Mickey2 (Cheryl & Jeff) and their Bichons (Thelma, Louise, Duke & Barkley), BuckeyeFortFamily (Steve & Family), Runner (Ed), PureTCrazy (Rita), OldeKoote (Momma), Grammie (Joanne), my DH (Paul) and the Official Fiend Greeter (Aiden)

Here's a look at a very large Halloween display on the corner of the 300 loop. We had a chance to talk to the creator who said they have been putting up the display for quite a few years. Each year he adds a little more. He has designed, built, and painted most of the decorations himself (with the exception of the blow-ups). It takes a trailer and two pick up trucks to bring it to the Fort from his home in Kissimmee. He also said that as he started to put up the display he got an inspection visit from the Disney Decoration PoPo...and he passed with flying colors. Just goes to show you...rules at the Fort are made to be broken ;D .

  3. Seriously adorable. I think if you posted only pictures of Aiden you could surpass the record for most view TR.

    Now there's an idea....exploit the grandson!! ::)

I do have some pictures coming up of Aiden on his first "big boy" rides now that he's passed the 40" height mark.

Wow, Karla, your camera takes great photos! They are so clear and bright!

I am really enjoying your trip report.

The visual tour of things you see and do is working for you!

    TCD

    Thank you very much!!

We try but this TR will never measure up to yours, Ed's/Rita's, or Doodle's!

Hope to get to meet you this weekend.

  4. I don't have any great stories to tell like Ed's and this isn't a suspense filled TR like TCD's, so I guess this will mostly be a visual tour of the things we see and do.

Sometimes pictures are worth a thousand word (...and sometimes they're not worth a penny)!

So here we go with this afternoon's visit to DHS....

First up is Little Mermaid...we really like the laser light effects but they don't photograph well.

Time for dinner so we head to the 50's Prime Time Cafe....

Stopped to watch the Disney Public Works Department while waiting for our reservation time...

    DSCN9432-1.jpg

    DSCN9433-1.jpg

After a long wait (they "lost" our reservation even though they had it when we checked in) the food was hot, good and well seasoned. Our server, Keith, was great and made a considerable fuss over Aiden!!

It was dark by the time dinner was finished...

Aiden was about to fall asleep in his ice cream so it was time to head back to the Fort.

We had plans to visit MK for EMH tonight....not happening.

    That's all for now...

Maybe we will have more Fiends to welcome tomorrow???

  5. We made the rounds this morning with our little Snarky Greeter....post your site when you get here and he will be around real soon to welcome you to the Halloween GG!

First stop...Ed, Rita, OldeKoot and Grammie (Ed's posted a picture of our visit already)

Third stop....Cheryl...(I'm getting my purple spray paint for those green ears!!)

    DSCN9315-1.jpg

    Fourth stop....Pam and family

    DSCN9320-1.jpg

Had nice visits with everybody and now we're off to DHS.

  6. You might be right about the chick magnet thing.

The thing is, I don't need Aiden, as I am a bit of a chick magnet myself.

    TCD

    AnimatedlaughingDog.gif

I didn't see where anyone said this but.. YES, you can still get the cowboys beans. They're not on the menu but we got them in July. :clint:

Oops! I meant July 2010 but you probably can still get them. ;D

Yes, you can still get Cowboy Beans.

When we got our GAG Tuesday, the CM asked us if we wanted beans since they were available and not listed on the menu.

  7. Even though I am the supreme expert on GAG's everyone has already done a great job answering the questions so I have only one thing to add.

I just wanted to confirm BBB's observation that they currently do not charge extra for all white meat on the GAG. They do for the Lone Rider, but not the GAG. There used to be an extra charge for all white meat on the GAG, but they must have run out of buttons on the register or something. I'm sure this won't last much longer, so enjoy it while you can. Of course, if you want drumsticks, you don't want to order all white meat.

    TCD

Yes, you are the supreme expert....all I can say is that the have not charged ME extra....

Maybe because I send Aiden in to order and he turns on the charm!!! chick.jpg

  8. Another question...in the GAG are there drumstiks? My dd only eats those for some reason so I want to make sure I can get those in there. Do I just need to ask for them or do they have a set amount of what they give you?

Yes there are a couple of drumsticks. If you want more just ask (there are a total of 10 pieces) for like 5 drumsticks and 5 white meat pieces. We always get all white meat and they have never charged us extra.

Can't wait to meet you....see ya real soon!!

  9. Thank you everybody for the nice compliments.

We are so looking forward to meeting all the Fiends coming for the Halloween GG. :jumpforjoy

Aiden is only one of my very precious grandsons...his 9 month old brother, PJ, is at home in Virginia with Mom & Dad  .

Tonight we have some new Fort news.....

Check out the addition to the walkway next to Feisty's site which is on the right side of this picture.

Yup...they added another pole right in the middle.

Seems a golf cart could just squeeze between the first two poles they recently put in.

So Disney, in it's infinite wisdom, installed another pole to keep those sneaky golf cart people from driving down the sidewalk.

BOO!! Another bad decision by Fort management. :argh:

    DSCN8973-1.jpg

  10. I cannot take credit for this. I have my anonymous sources in ...... places (high or low??).... to which I owe all such excellent information.

You know who you are. :heartsmiley:

Stopped at the front desk this morning AND again tonight.

They still say they have nothing printed concerning the Halloween activities!

I will try and go back and ask about the golf cart parade but I really don't have any faith in them giving out correct information....or even having any information. :argh:

  11. The last couple of days we've spent around the Fort (waiting for the torrential rains that never came) and a few hours over at Epcot.

Here's some scenes from around the Fort (no narration needed)....

  12. Karla, go back to the front desk and have Aiden say these three words "you are clueless" to that same CM.

She was either clueless or giving you a song and dance.

All of the property wide, including the Forts, Halloween activities have been published for a while.

I'm sure Monique will be posting the official Forts activities very soon.

Worse yet the duty manager was also there when we asked for the information!

He agreed that there was nothing available...I think his name was Jeff??..not certain!

    BOO!!!! :argh:
