  1. Hey everyone. I am back now and sick but recovering. Had a great time and cant wait to upload my trip report. Even if it wasn't a live one after all. Cant wait to get my pics uploaded. With all of us getting sick and having so many friends and a family member join us it became almost impossible to get online everyday to do a live report. Thankfully I made lots of notes and took lots of pics. Thanks to everyone for the support. With it being my second time to the fort and the firts time being for 2 days and was 20 years ago, I was glad to have these boards to turn to as everything was so new.
  2. Thank you for all of that. Here is the situation. No reciept from Steve. My husband did sign papers but wasnt given anything. My fault I didnt go out there and tell him to make sure and get one , and he thought maybe they didnt give reciepts because of the whole Disney doesn't like outside vendors thing. So it might have been just a oversight on Steves part or maybe he doesn't give them at all? I wouldn't rent a cart again without getting one after this. Lesson learned. I didnt know Steve had started his own company. I didnt expect to pay more than 475 based on a previous discussion. So 535
  3. Dan, You are so right about that. It does get hectic and I havent had as much time with the computer as I thought I would. Heck I didnt even know I would be able to keep this reservation intil the day before I left. ( more on that to come) Had trouble connecting to the internet here. Just did a system restore and everything is working fine. Have so many thoughts on the fort I want to share. Hitting the shower and going to sit down tonight and get some serious posting in. That being all said... I LOVE IT HERE. I love how the deer and bunnies , which are abundant dont seem the least bit phased
  4. I will find out more when we turn the cart in. I will give you a call at the number you gave me and update you if you like.We will be here another 11 nights. Hmm thats rather strange. I didnt like all the questions that the Orlando cart rental asked , if that was even them. What I thought was strange was that they asked me for the serial number on the cart! Like they were comtemplating its theft or something? They did stop just short of saying that though. I dont think Steve stole anything . I think maybe its his own cart. When I asked the woman if there was any issues after being so helpfu
  5. Just got on , havent had a chance to read any replys yet. I will get a chance tonight. We have had such a crazy crazy time of things. I will update everything later. Got into the fort at about 4 am this morning ( 2 day car trip from H@!!) and have been going since. Headed to Epcot ( havent eaten today and starved) . I took a ton of pics. LOVE IT HERE! We have had some great experiences so far. Had a gold cart fiasco . YOu can read about that on the cart rental page. Ok be back on tonight to catch up and post stuff.
  6. On way out the door. Arrived 4 am last night. Lots of pics and updates coming tonight on my TR . BUT I had a issue this morning and am totally confused!!! We rented a cart from Steve from Electric Carts of Orlando ( think thats what its called) . Everything went fine. Steve delivered this morning and my husband said he seemed like a nice guy. About a hour after he left I got a call from the Electric Cart Rentals of Orlando people. They asked me about Steve and if I rented from him. They said as of this morning he is no longer working for them.Of course I got nervous because we just paid him 5
  7. Has anyone here had a barium swallow done before on their child ? I am so stressed out and mad at myself. My son who has been having various issues went in for a barium swallow today. I know he needed the test but I was horrified at the amount of xrays taken. They had him drink stuff and then while swallowing and laying in different positions they took a series of xrays. LOTS of them. I counted over 40. The guy would take one and then say " Nope, its not in his stomach yet." Then do it again in a few seconds. I had already told them I was concerned about the amount of radiation and politly ask
  8. Thank you to all of you that replied. I had the microchip put in the other day without any worries thanks to all the feedback. I was very suprised how easy and quick it was. I guess I watch to many science fiction movies because I had these horrible images of what getting a microchip implanted might look/feel like. lol I dont think my pups even knew it was coming or when it was done. He wasn't to fond of the cranky cat with the infected eye next to him though. Liked our new vet also. Guess he doesn't get to many service dogs, and seemed quite taken with my Bobber. Now we are all set for the fo
  9. Thank you everyone. I feel much better. I will get him chipped at his vet apt this week. Glad to hear you all have had no issues with it.
  10. We are taking our sons service dog down with us to Disney in a less than 2 weeks. My friend who also has a service dog has highly recommended I get our SD microchipped. I have heard different things about this , including that it can cause tumor growth. The dog was very expensive to aqquire aside from the fact hes priceless to us anyway just because we love him. What do you guys do? Is microchipping safe? The thought of what they do makes me cringe. I want him to be safe but dont want to have anything done that will hurt him or could endanger his health. But if he ever got lost... I couldnt h
  11. Few more just for fun then I am off to bed. yes that Lumiere shes holding. We turned him backwards so he would look more like a candle instead but everyone noticed. lol We all love doing the different characters myself and my daughter included. We are hoping to have some costumes done for the comicon in NYC this October. It will be cutting it close to get them done in time with the trip , but I will post pics of what we have when we are done. Its a fun way to spend time with the girls so I really hope I have the energy for it when we get back.
  12. Ok back on track! Looks like since my last post so much has changed! Some of the changes are definate and some are uncertain. My mother and sister- They never decide on what they will do intil the last 5 minutes of that very day. I wont say much on my mom except we are not close and the words "passive aggressive" come to mind . I am at a point where I stopped trying to fix things since it takes 2, and it was time to heal and move on. I have always paid for them to vacation with with us ( they have money but my mom will never vacation unless someone else pays). I didnt mind because I liked ha
  13. Sorry I have been away so long. Been dealing with doctors and all sorts of fun stressful stuff. We have more testing just a few days before we head to the fort. My son has to get a barium swallow study done to rule out a hernia which is what we are suspecting. Last 2 days he has also been pointing to his lower stomach as well though. I am a nervous wreck. Any and all prayers appreciated. I am really coming unglued. On top of it all boys are having a hard time sleeping tonight . The bts we felt of the earthquake which was strong enough to knock stuff off our shelves all the way here in P.A. ma
  14. My husband just worked out that way the other day. Its a bit of a hike but isnt everything in Pa! heh I will have to ride along with hm one day when he works out that way. I cant wait to actually get inside some. Thanks
  15. Heck no! No such thing as giving me to much info. I really really appreciate it! I am taking it all in . I am so sorry to hear about your son and husbands skin allergies. I know first hand how horrible it can be. We deal with the same thing with both food and skin allergies. I am dreading staying in a cabin and any hotels on the way down. We have a dog that does some scent work to locate some of the sources of danger which helps. But getting settled in a room can take a couple hours to make it safe. Its my biggest reason for wanting to do this so bad. I dont think you are overcautious at all
  16. Woohoo ! I am so excited for you! Good idea about having the kids with the grandparents. I know mine would drive me crazy itching to get inside as soon as we had the keys. Cant blame them for that
  17. January would be perfect since I will be ready to purchase in Feb. . Allentown is where I do all my shoping anyway so that would work out great. I will google the places you mentioned and see if they have a website I can check out. Thanks for the tips.
  18. Ops didnt see you posted the link also. I am so bummed I will be at Disney during that time. ( NEVER thought I would ever hear myself say that! ) It looks like it would have perfect ! Thanks for the info. My husband has already run our family van down into the ground with all the travel he does for work. So a van is in the works soon anyway. I was thinking that for the price of a van and a TT I could get a motor home. But then I still wont have a van. I am making myself crazy here. So many things to factor in. Smart husband you have. I dont blame him on that. LOVE the pics I saw of the TT y
  19. Ugh ! Wouldnt you know it . Its when I will be at Disney. I got all excited. I think this is the one I saw on HGTV a couple years back. Hersheys not to far either. Would have been perfect. Thanks for the link.
  20. We homeschool also and I would love to take those vacations wth no current end date like you ! Seriously, at some point I would love to just drive across the country , visit some distant friends , and maybe visit Disneyland which we have never done, and just stop along the way and teach the kids about all the different places along the way. I imagine I would learn quite a bit myself. Hoping now to sound to dumb but how do you estimate stopping power ? Is there a rule of thumb or a formula I can use to estimate not only what I can tow but what would be safe? We do live in the mountains right
  21. Yeah family van it is. I started the fun task of looking at full size vans that are not so church van looking. I noticed they have travel trailers that are "lighter" to tow than others. I guess I will get a good idea of what the lightest I can get away with will be that will still fit our needs size wise. Then start on the math for what type of van we can get away with. Good point on the storage. We are not pack light kind of people. Hybrids scare me being on my own. But if I could find one that wouldnt be to hard to set up as you mentioned, then I wouldnt rule it out. What you said is good ad
  22. I have some quiet time and I am going to check this out. I had a quick glance the other day but with kids and animals feeling unwell couldnt really look. I have been looking for something that would show floorplans. Thanks! True. I actually sold a car on Ebay and had no issues. I did actually see a few I liked on there. I will keep a open mind. I am in NE PA . My husband said he passed a place the other day outside Allentown somewhere. If you know of anything events or showrooms I would love know. Thank you :) Hah! Thats the funny part, and a good point. I can barely back up a van. Only t
  23. You got my attention with that title! I was afraid you were going to say they were evacuating them from the storms or something. lol I am so happy you put up a cabin page for us poor folks without a TT or MH. I will be down in 2 weeks if you want any pics I can grab them for you of all the rooms and angles.
  24. Im back ! Computer virus is gone! Woohoo! I was lost without my puter. My husband ( and I HATE to say this) actually figured out what to do. No more coupon sites for me! I am not meant to save money , just spend it . Still having a rough time with my son and now we are looking at a possible hernia or LPR ( like GED but different) . We have some tests scheduled before they will get him in with a GI doc . I hate all the red tape with insurance! The tests are close before our trp and I really want him to feel better. Hes sleeping sitting up and not eating well. Last night he was grabbing his
